Hi,
I’m getting the same thing. It freezes at the New Activities screen…blue loading bar goes to the end and that’s it. It started about a week ago out of nowhere. I didn’t do anything different to my system at all…working one day the next day not working. Just wondering if you’ve come across a solution to this.
Thanks,
Mark.

After going back and forth with emails with support I tried everything they told me to do, and nothing worked. I had to uninstall and reinstall, and it worked make sure you update windows. They told me they are working on a update to fix these issues. Another weird trick is if you’re in full screen change to window mode. Hope this helps

This disk message is typically caused by Microsoft cloud services having issues.

I appreciate the reply. I just re-installed the sim and the same thing is happening. I get to the New Activities screen, the loading bar goes to the end and nothing. Just freezes on that screen. Works offline though. I’ll give it a go and check if it’s in windowed mode.
Thanks again.

Hey guys,
I think I came across a fix for the freezing “New Activities” screen. I opened event viewer and took a look around. I noticed that there were warnings listed when I was starting up the sim. So I scrolled down and started reading. I found that something wasn’t letting the sim initialize or something to that affect. There is a string of numbers and letters it pointed to that were in the registry. I’m sorry about the description, it’s the best I can do…lol. So I looked further online and found other people were having similar problems, not with the sim but with other programs. They were talking about taking ownership of this specific file. Anyway, there was a little program that did it in a few seconds instead of going through regedit. So I downloaded it. I ran it and took ownership of that file and it worked. I was able to start the sim, load into the home screen and fly. So I re-booted and started the sim again and it worked.
I’m not sure if I can post links to that software but if I am, I will. This has been driving me crazy for about a week now. Re-installed Windows twice and the sim 3 times. And the Marketplace map works too! Lol. It really never did before. I also installed the correct Realtek sound driver for my MB. I un-installed the generic sound driver and disabled Sonic Sound Suite that came with the MB sound driver. I hope this can be of help to someone. If you would like more details just put it on this post and I will gladly respond. Thank you to all who tried to help.
Stay well,
Mark.

I get the same error, to be honest its been driving me crazy trying to figure this out. I am using the Xbox PC app the game loads, check for updates, at this point the sound cuts out, then it starts to load. Sometimes I will get into the main menu, sometimes I won’t, then end result is always the same… the game crashes back to desktop.

PC specs:
RTX2070 super,
Ryzen 3900,
32gb Ram,
the game is installed in a 1tb Samsung Evo 970

I thought I had it fixed. I just started the sim and the same thing…loading to the end and freeze. This is beyond frustrating. Are they reading any of this?? These problems I would expect from amateurs. I can’t do this anymore.

Same issue here…it stucks on new activities screen…even with the blue bottom bar fully charged. I think it’s quite obvious that the problem is conection linked… In fact, if I disconnect the internet, I can access quickly.

Hey guys, this is going to sound…well anyway, after re-installing Windows numerous times and also the sim, I came across a fix, for me and maybe for someone else. It was my ethernet cable. I have an Asus Maximus Hero 12 \Wifi MB. So I unplugged my ethernet cable and am using the wifi and no more problems. I can get to the home screen and fly. Since I did this I’ve been able to get by the New Activities screen right to the home screen. And my connection to the sim has been much better. I was getting the loading circle in the right corner from time to time and was causing stuttering. You couldn’t fly until it stopped which sometimes took 5 min or didn’t stop at all. And I can also shut down properly instead of using Task Manager. I hope this helps anyone that might have the same problem.
Take care guys.

Well, I strongly believe is a conection linked issue. I updated Windows 10 to Version 21H2, upgraded my internet connection from 20mb to 50 mb, and the problem was fixed

I agree that this a connection issue as I was having the same problem and switching to WIFI fixed the issue. However, I don’t think it is an issue with the ethernet cable as tried with brand new cable and same issue. I am leaning more towards and issue with a recent ethernet driver update or maybe even with the intel ethernet chip on Mobo. I have an Asus ROG Strix 690-E gaming WIFI motherboard. Also the issue does appear to be with MSFS only as Youtube videos was slow and low quality and after switching to WIFI only it went back to normal. Thank you for your post as it pointed me in the right direction. By confirming this I hope this helps others also.

I was reading in one of the posts that they fixed a connection problem so I tried the ethernet cable again and like you said same problem. But I am happy that I could be of some help.
