New upgrade huge performance!

Hi folks!

Just to say GO buy 5800x3d and 4080RTX
It just awesome performance gap since i install theses components!
Before i run the sim, with 5600x and the 3080RTX.

My setup is complex i run x3 4K TV + 3 monitor for PFD ND ECAM and multiple peripherals for my homecockpit.

To be simple, APPROACH on London before i had 10/15fps

Today same settings but NVIDIA FRAME GENERATION ON, i get a solid 35/45fps on the same scenery.

So YES you can buy the 5800x3d (beware hot temps this cpu is on fire) and the 4080 even the price is too high performance are huge compared to the 3080.

I share a photo for example it was on one screen but a complex scenery (Paris CDG) and a32nx real trafic and real weather

Iā€™ve currently got a 5600X paired with a 3080. Not fussed about upgrading to a 4000 series GPU as I donā€™t need any more graphical horsepower at this point. I would like a 5800X3D though. Iā€™m waiting on seeing what the 7800X3D is going to be like.

Just going to add the 3D V-cache option for the Ryzen 7000s will supposedly be released in Q1 2023 for those that donā€™t mind waiting a few months. The added benefit of waiting is to use the new socket AM5, which should offer several upgrade cycles.

Iā€™m very happy with my 5800X3D and 4080 upgrade experience too. I upgraded mainly for VR but in 2D I can run 4K Ultra and with FG on I am pegged at my TVā€™s max refresh of 60Hz in any scenario. How good is that!

One thing to note is that the Dev Mode FPS view doesnā€™t show the doubling of FPS that is occurring with frame generation on. You need to run an external FPS monitor, like MSI Afterburner or hWInfo to show your true FPS. As such, it is likely you are getting double the FPS you are showing in your screenshot.

Itā€™s ok iā€™m agree with you 3000ā€™series is enough but for my setup it was not enoughā€¦

My message is to inform people about good performance on new generation.

And beware but cpu 7xxx you have to change the motherboard tooā€¦

Yeah and new DDR5 RAM. Itā€™ll be a bigger financial outlay but it at least should last a while. Iā€™ll just need to see what I can realistically afford.

The only reason Iā€™d like a 4080 or 4090 is for VR, but I donā€™t use VR enough to justify the cost.

Iā€™ve done a couple of flights today and my max recorded CPU temperature has been 76.4C. This is with a Gigabyte 240mm AIO liquid cooling, which is good but nothing special.

FYI, I am running PBO2 Tuner with C0 set to -15 for all cores, which is giving me about a 5C reduction in CPU temperature. If you havenā€™t heard about this utility, you can find a guide here on how to use it to effectively undervolt your 5800X3D.

The 5800x3d is a CPU Iā€™ll consider upgrading to this year. Otherwise my current gpu does the job.

No interest in buying the 40series or AMD equivalent. Ridiculously priced.

Recently updated to a 12700K/3080ti/32GB DDR5. All settings completely maxed out, 400 TLOD, the works. I run a 32ā€ 2K monitor. Ca. 30 FPS at major airports (KMIA), usually upper 40ā€™s to 50ā€™s in other airports, nailed at 60 in cruise (monitor is 60 Hz). Havenā€™t had a single stutter since I set it up.
