After seeing some of the VR reviews I am moving my x-plane 11 VR setup over to FS2020. I fly Helicopters and note the lack of Heli’s at the moment but I am pretty happy they will be there relatively quickly.
For the new MSFS setup I am going to buy brand new hardware and don’t really have any fixed budget - it just needs to be worthwhile spend and top quality VR - excellent graphics for panels and no stutter.
I currently have the Rift S and a Valve Index headsets but I am considering the Varjo Aero as the main headset given the reviews I’ve seen?
The main hardware spec I am currently considering is:
Does anyone have a view if this is spec’d high enough for VR in FS and is there anything I can do to improve? Also how will the Aero fair in this setup vs alternatives?
your propsed pc looks great i don’t think you can do any better right now. note it still won’t reach 90 fps in vr.
the varjo aero is the premier hmd for msfs imo if cost is not a factor. a couple of alternatives are the hp reverb G2, good clarity and comparitively cheap, or the pimax 8KX which is about half the aero price, its advantage is a large fov.
Thank you - I think that will be my hardware spec. For Heli flying it’s definitely gauge clarity as opposed to FOV so I think the Aero is my preferred route. Does anyone have any new recommendations for how to quickly “manipulate” buttons / dials in a Heli - on the basis you’re not flying in AP and are hand(s) on with the controls through a VFR flight? Typically changing squark, QNH, radio etc.
