Next nothing 1.5.10.0

Seriously? It took Asobo five days to release another beta just to fix the autopilot and navigation — both of which were broken in the previous update. This isn’t even funny anymore; it’s pure frustration and disbelief.

To be clear, this is not an attack, and I hope this post won’t be removed by the moderators or community managers. This is a sincere cry of concern from a dedicated user. We, as a community, are simply asking for transparency and acknowledgment.

What is happening with MSFS? Why do these persistent and often fundamental issues — CTDs, stutters, broken systems, and UI glitches — keep returning or remain unaddressed? How is it possible that a basic user interface, a concept refined for decades, still functions and looks like this?

And the night lighting — does someone seriously think this is acceptable for night flying? The lighting looks like it was designed with visual impairment in mind. And again — what about all the other bugs?

We’re kindly asking Asobo/MSFS to address these concerns — in any format that suits them: a short forum post, a quick video statement, a livestream comment — anything. Someone needs to take responsibility for the current state of the sim.

P.S. After the latest update — and yes, with a completely cleared Community folder — MSFS now delivers a flawless CTD. Well done.

I am now asking myself if this build got even tested once.
I mean how can a Patch can be shipped if it doesnt even work with empty Community folder and in Save-mode?
How can it be that no one saw that before shipping out a completely broken build.

I am with you man.. I am speechless.

The CMs are collecting start-up CTD details in the link posted above right now…

If these fixes are ready, why should they hold them back while they need more time on fixing more significant things that might not apply to all users? Most likely it’s even different internal teams working on different topics, so a team which is working on the autopilot logic unlikely programs any general memory logic - that would be like asking your plumber to fix your cars fuel injection system.

They are working also on that stuff. You don’t have access to the internal bug trackers, so you don’t see what they are currently working on, what level of complexity is estimated, if an issue was successfully reproduced internally or what comments were added in regards of “waiting for Nvidia” or other external dependencies. The Beta versions are there to identify issues with the sim and the releases don’t reflect the “priority” of things. If something is ready to be tested by random users it will be release - if not now it will be on some later point in time.

Also it might be the case that something is fixed on Asobos end but won’t be released for consumer testing. That is the case if a) some other external fix is required (like a new GPU driver version that is not yet on the public branch), b) if no feedback is needed because the fix already is confirmed working internally across the board and the cause was pretty clear. In that case a fix may end up rather late or at the normal public release.

My current state is not your current state:

And this is the problem - the situation is not universal for all people around. Since ~1.5.08.0 I get a constant 100 FPS with pretty low latencies out of the sudden on my medium to high spec system. I don’t use any so called “fixes” by random YouTube view collectors using profile inspector, I did not deactivate “HAGS” or Rebar, I did nothing but running the sim as if I installed it freshly. All I did was clearing the DX cache once after the latest Nvidia drivers released and I use the latest DLSS version on Preset K to not have blurred displays.

Requesting a comment on a quite technical Beta out of the regular order won’t be fulfilled. We all know that by reading and subscribing we’ll get a work in progress build that most likely contains bugs. The communication about these bugs is their status “feedback logged” and “bug logged” as well as a Community Manager comment on bigger topics whenever there is something to share in public. Whenever some of the bugs are ending up on the regular public version that will be acknowledged and also mentioned on the developer streams if there is high demand, especially if you kindly ask for feedback which I did multiple times in which case I also received good answers. Both on chat and on providing the question beforehand.

I haven’t tried this version yet, so I can’t comment on that.

Are you sure about that first statement?

There’s another point here; do the release notes contain all the fixes and improvements or we can only see some important ones? If that’s all as seen on the notes, it so disapponting…

Yep, flying at night is pretty ugly. Not even FSX was this bad.

Most of the time they dont. Which is bad practise if you want people to test properly. You can’t test something if you dont know what has changed, nor can you know if it’s your PC/Addon/Mod or their fault if crashes happen because they changed core stuff again without telling.

Like ID’s get changed every single update in cookedcomps, why they are dynamic I have no clue, they probably dont either. It’s a waste of time to check every single file to see what exactly has changed in them.

I agree with your assessment and had the same experience last night flying around in a 172 and Cub. Sim was stunning. Latest issue deals with any planes that are using simconnect. I tried a Fenix A320 flight this morning and got the CTD’s but I know that has been identified and will be fixed. Clearly this latest build was primarily to address the AP issues and apparently those now work…except in the planes and addons that use simconnect which is a separate issue, identified by this being a beta.

As someone who is still mostly on 2020, I understand your frustration. We could have such a nice simulator. The best that ever was. Real as it gets. Sky is not the limit. Instead, I´m still waiting for things they announced proudly 6 years ago like live traffic (remember the 2024 trailer? lol) live weather, radars, atc, offline traffic… nothing. we always get stuff no one has asked for. that was just my 2 cents of frustration. have a nice day Asobo

I remember when Jorg dispersed upcoming concerns about the short developement time of MSFS 2024 with saying that they got a much bigger team now than in 2020.
Sadly I can’t see any differences in the time needed for bug fixing than in the early month after the release of MSFS 2020. I can’t see any differences at all, include the fact that in 2020 there was corona going around with lock downs etc. especially in france where Asobo sits.
Yes I am really disappointed, and I lose more and more trust in the seriousness of the developement of MSFS 2024.

I post this purely for info only and not as an ‘I am alright, Jack’ statement.

I am perfectly fine with 1.5.10. I have had no CTDS at all. To be clear I do not have the Fenix, i do not have fsuipc7, in fact when I checked I do not have an exe.xml.

My guess is that taking into account some of the testing by others this would be the reason that I have not had any CTDs.

Hey.. How about ask yourself this. Is my problem everyones problem before posting in a Beta thread if you cant realized that beta will never ever be perfect all the time then Opt out of the beta instead of trying to insult people. You talk about night flying remembered your pc color and hardware isnt the exact same for every singles MSFS user and developer. I change the monitors colors and in order to fly at 4K without leaving burn in on my OLED and quickly change it back. My point is you maybe flying on a Desktop with a pc monitor and i am on a TV u may have AMD and i may have NVIDIA all distributed colors differently. Instead of trying to insult people how about take a second to not think about yourself for 1 second and just ask yourself those questions. Because it’s clear you can’t handle the pros/cons and requirements of being a Beta tester

I cannot get any airport to load without a CTD after 1.5.10.0. Tried several airports (LFPG, CYOW, KEWR, LPPT) and the sim crashed immediately after I hit launch. As of right now, I can’t fly at all. It was working perfectly before the latest patch. VRAM and CPU usage was up with 1.5.9, but it was playable. I’m going to try a fresh install this evening, but I agree with what was said earlier in this tread: was this even tested before rollout?
