I just tried Taburet’s Niagara Falls V2 MSFS24 and, sadly, Niagara Falls is still a mess.
On one hand, Taburet’s Niagara Falls V2 is a slight improvement and a free upgrade for people who purchased his V1.
On the other, is not a worthy alternative to what Jeppeson2001’s Niagara Falls City Pack was before that fabulous addon was broken by MS-Asobo System Updates.
For me, the Niagara Falls City Pack remains the “Gold Standartd” because it had the most:
- Accurate models of the Falls (American, Bridal Veil, and Horseshoe) with sounds and mist
- Accurate terrain modelling for the banks of the Niagara River
- Comprehensive set of hand crafted buildings, bridges, heliports, and other POIs
With Jeppeson2001’s addon, flying up the Niagara River at 150 ft in the air was a joy.
One can still experience some of that fun in MSFS 2024 with Jeppeson2001’s Victoria Falls and with Heaven Designs’ Iguassu Falls (and in the near future with Cli4D’s soon-to-be-released Iguassu Falls).
But MS and Asobo really should sort out what ever issue is blocking developers like @bijanstudio, Cli4D, and @Jeppeson2001 from performing their scenery magic on the Niagara Falls area.
In my ideal world, not only could one view highly detailed models of the Falls, but one could also fly all the way from Lake Ontario to Lake Erie and see a topographically accurate, and PG tree blob-free Niagara River and Niagara Gorge filled with handcrafted bridges, hydro-electoral facilities, parks, and viewing platforms. Then, one could land at one of the local airports or helipads and stroll the streets of Niagara on the Lake, Niagara Falls, Fort Erie, and Buffalo, and explore the the interiors of POIs like Fort Mississauga, Fort George, Fort Niagara, and Old Fort Erie.
If this were possible in MSFS 2024, I suspect local public broadcasters like tvOntario and WNED-TV might be interested in interviewing developer(s) responsible and showcasing their work. It would certainly fall within their public education mandates.
