When using monitors (not VR), is it worth playing with NIS or not?
I’m running a triple 1440p setup on an I12900K/RTX3080ti rig and trying to beat every last frame I can out of it
I have it on DLSS super, Balanced, DX12(beta) but have been pointed towards using NIS to downsample then upsample in-game. This sounds very similar to what DLSS does - should I not bother? Do you use NIS as well as DLSS or turn that off??
It’s all a bit confusing TBH
Sounds like that would render more pixels, reducing your fps.
I agree that all the acronyms and features Nvidia introduces does get confusing.
You might want to give DLDSR + DLSS a shot, as per this thread:
https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/if-you-are-using-a-1080p-or-a-1440p-monitor-use-dldsr-with-dlss-instead-of-native-taa-or-native-dlss
I’m on 1400p with a 5800x3d + 3080ti and I’m very happy with DLDSR x1.78 and DLSS Balanced. Good framerate (over 60fps unless at a busy airport) and the softness of DLSS on instrument displays is mitigated.
