No .exe file for Bitdefender Firewall

Hi
If I try to start up MFS2020 with my Bitdefender Virus Security Firewall on I end up being asked to install the disk, however if I turn it off the Simulator works. Gone over the whole problem with Bitdefender support and tried many options they suggested but none of them worked.
I was told they believe the issue was there is no .exe file associated with MFS 2020 due to it streaming to tell the firewall to allow it through. Has anyone had this problem and got around it.

JK

Honestly I don’t use anti-virus anymore (beside the one included inside Windows) since a good couple of years. I would however say that the issue here reside by Bitdefender and therefore they have to patch it to allow FS to work.

BTW which version do you use? Steam? MS Store? Game pass?

Of course there is an .exe. As far as my own recent experience with this goes there are two problems at work here.

One is that the windows store doesn’t give the user permission to directly access its files. Which can throw other programs off as well. You can try to mitigate that by taking posession of the files with your windows user account but it doesn’t always solve the problem.

The other and probably more serious one is that the store appearently expects to find its files in a very specific place. When you install a program anywhere else, there’s nothing to tell the store where it is. Instead Microsoft uses a Windows function that basically pretends the files are where the store want them to be while in reality it fetches them from their real position.
This can once again can throw other programs off because they can’t find the files where Windows tells them they are. That’s the problem I had with my software firewall until it got the function to detect and work with these “virtual” files.
Seems in your case Bitdefender might need a similar fix.
