It’s been many months now that in the changing of the seasons, the moment of summer storms arrives.
Neither last year nor this year do I see any lightning and thunder in live weather. is there a reason? perhaps a setting graphics / realism?
I wonder if it’s a limitation of FS2020 or there are problems with the live weather?

This is a known issue: Where are the thunder and lightning...?
There is no setting graphics / realism to control it. All rely on MeteoBlue data and how Live Weather engine interpret those data.
There was a time when we had too much thunder and lightning then everybody started moaning so now it looks like a certain tweak has got rid of all of it!
Yes the incessant moaning has succeeded in destroying the original great weather representation. But hey, at least it represents a stale “lack of detail” METAR forecast “better”.
Last weekend, I did a flight from CYOO Oshawa to KADW Andrews AFB and flew right into a thunderstorm. Thunder and lighnings and heavy rain. The lightning started of as cloud to cloud and then some intense ground strikes. So it all worked on that flight.
I’ve also had thunder and lightning on a number of flights recently using live weather. The only issue has been lack of representative cloud build ups. Small to medium cumulus only. Thunder and lightning has coincided with other local weather reports.
In an ideal world it would be like this: as they showcased tornadoes, that are hard to predict in terms of where the funnel is developing and which path it will take, they should have a stellar weather depiction in FS2024, as everything else is comparably easy and precise to forecast, including thunderstorms with realistic amount of lightning.
In an ideal world there would also be no PR driven announcements…
