I mean, big companies with online services do hire people to put out fires and have 24/7 on-call coverage, but this one might be a doozy that isn’t just a matter of rebooting a server or maybe it’s on MeteoBlue’s end, etc etc.
2 years; August 2020
At this time i bought REX 2020 Weather Force (and there i get a quite good real weather injection)
The same issue. No clouds in live real time wheather. I re-install simulator with no results. Intresting, it depicts haze, fog, temperature, winds etc. but no clouds. What are your expierience in that matter?
I hope folks don’t start re-installing the Sim or Windows.
The problem isn’t with our systems.
Seems to be back for me, just loaded up in CYVR and clouds have appeared just as they should, don’t know if this is going to last
The metar inside the sim are from the 25th … there were some working days in between ^^
I did re-installed ![]()
No, I don’t think I pay for any annual service subscription and that’s the difference
Anyway that’s entirely off topic, so I won’t deep dive into the differences now.
To keep the discussion on track it seems that not all players are affected, like me - I fly for two+ hours now and weather keeps updating fine. This will make things more tricky to investigate I guess.
I paid moderate one time fee, 2+ years ago. So I don’t expect priority service. I can always switch to offline wether, I can even try to recreate in custom mode the actual weather (static, but good enough for some VFR local flying).
I am flying from KCMH to KFLL it’s a 2hr10min flight. I am 1hr and 20min in and the clouds have come back and disappeared again 9 times while en route so far.
After 2 years in this sim I learned to not expect too much. I remember very well the giant obelisks around the landscape lasting the entire Christmas season, until Asobo team returned from vacation and started investigating. Fortunately some clever user developed a fix even before Asobo team returned.
I know, but I doubt it fixed the Live Weather for you.
That’s why I said, ‘It’s not our systems that are the problem’.
But it’s not only weather. It is also doing that really annoying “Your Bandwidth is too low” which it isn’t, and 99% of the time our speeds are fine.
It’s becoming a really annoying issue now, that has affected 4 of my 5 flights today.
Live weather ok, there are ways around that, Rex or XEnviro and boom you got your live weather back, maybe not as good as default maybe better, but the stupid bandwidth too low thing is really starting to get on my nerves now.
Nothing like a absolutely cloudless day over the state of Hawaii. ![]()
I enjoyed the flight from Lanai to Maui anyway.
Still practicing trying to successfully and smoothly transition to an ILS landing with this new TBM equipment.
is there ANY statement from MS / Asobo regarding the issue ?
They are ‘Investigating’ the issue.
Issue has been going on for a few days - didn’t just start over a weekend. And since they sell a product that relies on online connectivity 24/7, I would expect there to be someone looking into the issue even on a weekend or at night (or day).
Plus, the issue started a few days ago.
Point remains - more frequent communication is good in situations like this.
That’s funny ![]()
No no…they are “monitoring reports” according to twitter lol
Same thing here, after the weather problem I now have the message indicating bandwidth too low, fun with a 2GB connection that works perfectly.
So it’s not just the weather, it also disables me bing data now. The breakdown looks serious.
