Thanks 4 info - GJ lads.
Thank you for taking the time (and effort) to find out what is happening and keeping us informed.
I flew east well into the Pacific Ocean and it was all clear skyâŠthat couldnât be.
really weird, I did a few tests yesterday and today and the weather is matching ever since and the METAR is current. I had the same issue as described in this thread 3 days ago though. So either Iâm just getting lucky everytime I connect or it is somehow user-account related too. Whatever⊠glad theyâre on it.
Thanks for your efforts.
Would it be ok to share the region that has problems in order at least to be able to verify that connecting with VPN to other regions solves the issue?
Read it again.
oooops My bad man. Thanks
For me, I bathed in glorious live weather for the last two days. Now, I am getting outdated METAR again.
So, from my perspective, I think its a little disingenuous to describe the topic as âsolvedâ.
But OTOH itâs readily apparent from this thread that this is a huge YMMV situation and some people are mostly seeing correct and some are mostly still getting errors, so if youâre VPNing from a bad spot to a better one your situation will improve. Problem is, as theyâve confirmed, thereâs nothing systematic about where the issues are so nobody can tell you with any confidence where you should be VPNing into (or where you should be avoiding).
Welcome to the community buddy!!! Good to see you here!!
Using a VPN is not a guaranteed solution. Here are some additional details as to why:
Some of the Azure cache servers that are used to distribute Live Weather data are not updating correctly to the latest versions of the data.
The game checks for new data very regularly but not from one server, meaning that from one request to another, the game client might hit a different server. The client can then receive data that is up-to-date OR data that is several hours/days old.
We have requested Azure engineers assistance and are waiting for the results of their investigation. In the meantime we are also exploring other potential solutions to circumvent the issue.
Finally we have a proper answer, thanks.
Thanks again.
This is the kind of information we are genuinely interested in.
Definitely the kind of communication that is appropriate, thanks. I think most people realize it cannot be fixed overnight, but appreciate the effort and some communication.
i could not agree more,
and frankly the statement that âSolved does not mean solvedâ is ridiculous,
you dont redefine the english language to suit some forum usage for tags
its totally confusing and misleading and it should be removed imo
finding the possible cause of an issue is not the same as fixing or âSolvingâ that issue
i honestly came here and read this post Looking for this âSolutionâ because i Still Have the issue
it is great to see that progress has been made and i thank the Support Team for keeping us in the loop in this manner
What the moderator means is, the software used to create this forum (called Discourse) has pre-defined functions (like âsolvedâ) that they make use of to pin a particular answer at the top. Itâs just the semantics of the software, read it to mean âinformative current infoâ.
Maybe useful information: I had the problem and for me it is solved since yesterday. Remedy: I updated my BIOS. Due to an upgrade from 12900k to 13900k I had to do this. Surprisingly, after the bios update (still on the 12900k) the clear skies bug dissapeared!!! I have no explanation just an observation. I have an MSI Pro Z690-A motherboard.
Just updating last information from my side (I know the forum says it is âsolvedâ but this is just a forum technicality):
- Live weather: NO CLOUDS, JUST MIST (wind, atm. pressure seem OK).
- METAR in game: Two days old (February 07)
- Server: West Europe
- My location: Spain
- Flying region: out of KEWR
Many thanks to you for this explanation! This provides us the level of detail we need to help MS/Asobo troubleshoot the problem and to manage expectations.
Hello, âLIVE Weatherâ is not working for me,I am in Germany.
Metar is not working.
If I fly in GB, Weather looks like âLIVE WeatherââŠâŠâŠ?.?
