Unless I’m missing something, I drone-camera-ed over to a tall radio tower off the apron of a small airport, under a full moon around 10pm, and there was no shadow of the tower cast across the ground.
Glare and reflection of the moon off the wings of the user aircraft? – YES.
Shadows of the moon?-- NO.
Has anyone else noticed this? Or has anyone else been able to confirm that MOON
shadows do exist, when the moon is out at night in the simulator?
I can’t see them either, on the ground or in the cockpit. It’s not just a lack of shadows - I’m testing a clear night over a dark bit of terrain (Inverness area), with a full moon, around midnight on the 2nd Sept, and it barely illuminates the ground at all. It looks nice, but is nowhere near bright enough. Also, what can be seen is clearly a darker version of daylight (no really). The washed out monochrome that you get under moonlight is not represented.
I notice in another thread, that some people seem to be having the opposite problem - their terrain is far too light at night. I’m guessing we are not all seeing the same thing in that respect. Perhaps a GFX card setting is the cause. There are no settings I can see in-game. I have everything set to Ultra .
