No PMDG Operations Center programm - how to install the official PMDG liveries?

Hi,

after buying and installing the PMDG Cloudmaster which is currently on sale in the Marketpace I have already read a few of the handbook manuals and noticed that the PMDG Center is not installed (nor in any of my install folders or C maindrive user folders as mentioned in the handbook.)

How can I install all these beautyful official PMDG liveries without the PMDG Operations Center?
Can it be downloaded and installed even if the plane was bought from the ingame store and not direct from PMDG?

Thanks for the answers

You canā€˜t yet. OC2 for the Marketplace version is currently in development and as everything else with this sim it takes its time. All you can do is wait.

Ahā€¦ you might be able to use 3rd party liveries that come from addon websites.

Wow the PMDG Operations Center is probably a program that is important for this plane, too bad it canĀ“t be downloaded from PMDG website directly and installed.

But the good news is - there are more than enough liveries:

Not bad not bad  I donĀ“t know which liveries are fictional but they look realistic and good:

I have to check how installing liveries works with OneStore airplanes, community folder or OneStore folder just like the Carenado Mooney. But it looks great!
Maybe there is a livery that comes with a different or interesting modified cockpit too like the Cessna Citation CJ4.

This is why i prefer to purchase stuff directly vs through an externally managed marketplace. I get better support, better refund policy and easier access to the extra stuff that I might not get purchasing elsewhere. Plus i know 100% of my purchase goes to the devs (vs the 30% or whatever Asobo/MS takes on their store)

The only thing iā€™d use the in-game marketplace for is free content and buying airports and i donā€™t buy extra airportsā€¦

I had a 50ā‚¬ voucher I bought for my birthday left.
And because the PMDG Cloudmaster is currently on sale and the Aerosoft CRJ700 still has no weather radar (it would constantly bother me having none and having some important systems missing - even the most simple Carenado GA props almost all have a weather radarā€¦) I bought the Cloudmaster.

And itĀ“s an absolute awesome plane!
Finally a perfect and complex study-level freighter plane, even if itĀ“s very old and no longer in use itĀ“s still cool and always ready for adventures.
And it looks awesome. The only detail that triggers my OCD are the propeller blades that look like a machete.
There are two different propeller blade shapes and PMDG used the one with the machete design which is tthe Hamilton standard propeller, but this prop here would look better:

Well just one tiny detail I would change, but itĀ“s not important because the plane looks great anyway.

But I donĀ“t know how to install .ptb files.
A lot of texture downloads for the Cloudmaster are called ā€œAMERICAN.738.ptpā€ and hmā€¦ does this just belong into the community folder or how is this installed?

I believe those files are installed using the PDMG Ops Centre program still being developed for Marketplace buyers.

Yes indeed. But there is no other manual way to install these files, and unfortunately the best liveries are all ptp files.

I know this is way back in '21 Iā€™m replying on 08.14.23 and if your question hasnā€™t been answered yet here it is.

In the Operations Center v2 this is where all your current addons that PMDG made is used to install into MSFS 2020. When you want to install the .ptp files all you have to do is to go to the ā€œAircraft and Liveriesā€ tab at the top of the form and choose ā€œLivery Utilitiesā€. This will take you to another window that you can pick on the left hand side of the form which aircraft you want to load your .ptp files into.
Letā€™s say you want to load a .ptp file into the 737-700BDSF aircraft:

  1. Choose ā€œInstalled Productsā€
  2. Choose ā€œPMDG 737-700ā€
  3. Choose under ā€œVariants / Modelsā€

the PMDG 737-700BDSF

it will open up the open folder, just choose the location where you saved your .ptp file at and choose the file - either click and open or double click the filename and it will upload your .ptp file into the PMDG 737-700BDSF livery section automatically.

That simpleā€¦again, I know itā€™s been a couple of years since this post and you may already know how to do this but I didnā€™t see anyone answer you on how to do this so I responded. Anyway, no worries if you already know how to do this.

I think the question was about the situation when you ā€œby mistakeā€ bought this on the in-game marketplace instead of directly from PMDG. You donā€™t get the operation center at all when you do it that way, because the store doesnā€™t allow any external applications to be installed together with the addon.

This is of course solvable by PMDG by having a version of the operation center that doesnā€™t require you to log in and detects that you have bought the game through the store. But they probably have other priorities and are in general extremely slow in delivering new features.
