No rudder control as soon as the engine is on (at least on PA28 Dakota & Cessna 172)

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

Immediatly as the engine start.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

  1. Load Dakota or 172 cold and dark

  2. Check rudder control (fine) parking control (fine)

  3. Start the engine

  4. Check rudder control (failed), parking control (fine)

I do not if this is related to this ticket and then a global issue.

Just flew the Dakota on a 1hr flight, cold and dark start. No issues with rudder for me, taxied at departure and arrival with no problems, rudder also responsive in flight.

Could there be a control set up conflict?

May be. But when reverting to SU3 everything is normal. And I do not see any other rudder assignment to my other periphericals (mouse / keyboard / throtthle / joystick or pendular rudder).

I’m not seeing this issue in the default C172. Does this issue still occur if, for testing purposes, you unplug your Thrustmaster T-Pendular and just use the keyboard for rudder control?

I agree with @scruffyphal that there could be a binding problem with your rudder settings in SU4.

Same problem here!

Waco biplane, DC-3, Stearman, you name it. Rudder stops responding once engine is running. Once going fast enough it starts working again (somewhere around 25-40 kts).

Tested it with more time at my hand:

DC-3 is not affected - it was some days ago but is fine now.

BUT:

Every MSFS2020 plane shows the same problem so far:

  • GoldenAgeSimulation Stearman
  • Carenado Cessna 337
  • LionhartCreations Pasped Skylark
  • A1R Design Bureau A1R Ryan ST-A Special
  • Big Radials Curtiss P-40B

…didn’t test further right now.

You need to turn off the prop wash effect on the controls in FSRealistic Pro. It’s breaks them for some reason. At some point I assume the developer of FSRealistic Pro will fix this issue.

Dude-! Your answer is on spot!

Thank you so much!

Indeed I confirm. This comes from the effect from FS Realistic, and trurn off prop wash is the workadound.

Moved out from Sim Update 4 Beta | MSFS 2024 since not a regression but an issue involving a 3rd party addon.
