When I load up FS2020, it loads up to the menu I select a Plane and a location to fly from.
Loads into the sim, im sitting there on the Runway ready to go.
However, I have no sounds, no engine running etc…
I exit the sim and reload and I now have sound.
Has anyone else fixed this issue

Check to make sure Windows and the sim have your output device for audio set to what you want. I assume you have a headset, speakers, and maybe even a joystick with a speaker in it. A quick settings check should fix it for you.
I have the same issue intermittently when using my Reverb g2 headset, it’s the default device. Reboot has been the only way to resolve for me also
Same here. G2 intermittently loses audio from the sim. Seems to happen on a subsequent flight after a canceled flight. Once or twice I got it back through random poking at enough settings in the Sound option in the sim. Only way to reliably get it back is to quit the sim and reboot.
I have checked all audio settings are set to default and set to main speakers.

Same problem or a related one here. Spent half an hour trying to fix my sound, turns out that quitting and restarting flight sim fixed it. I think the problem is caused by hibernating the computer while flight sim is running, which I did because frankly I don’t trust flight sim not to screw up my bush flight trophies if I dare to leave the flight and quit the program, then return to it later. All sound worked perfectly in Windows and other programs after hibernation, but nothing would make sound work on any device in flight sim without completely quitting and restarting it.
im with the same issue. Volume mixer shows sound full, have set device sound to system default and tried to the headphone or the PC speakers and nothing is working. any ideas what it could be?
same here, i reinstalled all my aircraft but it still doesn’t have any audio
It’s Asobo and Asobo made a very bad simulator that looks pretty. The issue persists up to this day and I am pretty sure it is also present in the 2024 iteration of this arcade game. It is a terrible, unpolished, very badly coded game and it will always be one for as long as their main focus is on gimmicks like career modes or catering to uninspired xbox games who wish to fly for fun. This app has nothing for serious simming anymore. The only way to get to somewhat realistic experiences is by paying a fortune for add-ons and scenery. And after you did you still have these hiccups, bugs and issues. 2024 is a mess. 2020 is STILL a mess. Here’s the fix: Uninstall it, never buy anything from them again and support their competitors. They know way better what they are doing than these hobby flight simmers who are calling themselves “Asobo”.
