Hello all,
I seem to have a weird problem. I have a 5.1 surround setup for audio and I read that I had to activate spatial sound to enjoy the sound of the sim the fullest on my setup. And I agree, I immediately heard a big difference as MSFS is now fully taking advantage of my audio setup.
However when I try to turn down my volume everything but MSFS will follow the master volume. It seems MSFS is stuck on 100% and ignores the master volume control of Windows for some reason. This however is not the case if I turn off Spatial sound, when turned off MSFS does follow the master volume control of Windows as I suppose it should be.
Have other also experienced similar problems?
Love to hear a solution!
That is weird. I use spatial sound with bose headphones and it works. Do you have surround activated in windows? I ask bc I think spatial sound in msfs allone does not give you surround sound without it.
Yes surround in windows is activated. MSFS is also using all my speakers properly, so spatial sound is working as it was intended I assume, but it’s just the volume control that doesn’t seem to work.
Spatial sound should work only if you have a Dolby Atmos format or DTS-X selected in your Windows Audio.
Also, don’t you have your speaker volume that you can turn down instead?
Well like I said before, spatial sound works, so also with Dolby Digital or DTS Audio format. The only problem is, that MSFS ignores the main volume control from windows when selected on.
I use my old home theater set, 5.1 via an optical audio cable and I can change the volume on that system as well, but since it’s located below my desk I prefer to use my volume control for windows, which is located on my desk.
And since all other programs etc follow the main volume control from windows, I was wondering why MSFS doesn’t do the same when spatial sound is activated.
