REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
-
Select Live Weather
-
Select any aircraft (should be impact on smaller/lighter aircraft)
-
Find an airport that is reporting high surface winds or high winds below 4000 ft.
-
Select a runway that will have a cross wind based on report wind direction.
-
Takeoff or land, there is NO impact to the aircraft, I don’t have to crab in nor make any adjustments for a crosswind landing, it’s as if there is ZERO wind.

Cannot replicate. Just tried at BIVM, Live Weather, strong cross wind taking off RWY 03 and the C152 crabed a lot:
Can you try same airport/aircraft now ?
Have you disabled all your addons ?
Testing now BIVM in C152… I’ve tried several locations over the past several days:
KPDX
LPPT
EGJS
FACT
MKJS (during hurricane)
Tried with and without any add-ons, no difference.
Will report back soon …
If you have Little Navmap, do you see wind there ?
Tested and BIVM in both C152 and AeroStar 600 and there was definitely crosswinds and turbulence being depicted (this is good). However, that’s a island surround by hills/mountains.
So I tried KSBX (flat lands central USA0 as it has high surface wind and is just below 4000 ft. and it was depicting the winds correctly (grass was blowing nicely, this is good).
However, on the above airports I listed at the time of testing (KPDX, LPPT, EGJS, FACT, MKJS), nothing at all.
It seems to be hit and miss on how winds are impacting specific locations.
Some airport you’ve listed don’t report strong wind in Live weather now.
FACT reports 10kts, if you take off from RWY 16 your aircraft is impacted and crab. Can you test it now ?
Maybe if you don’t see any effect could mean a weak wind.
Not now, those I tested were over the past week or so. I checked weather reports to determine airports “at the time” with high winds.
Easy way to select an airport with high winds is to go to:
Bad Weather Website
always current, just pick one.
Thanks for the link. Spawning at BGBW:
It’s impossible to take off with such wind using the C152, so wind effect is definitively modeled. I cannot reproduce the issue you are experiencing.
What is your turbulence setting set to?
