Hello, can anyone point out to me where I can find noise abatement procedures for the airport? I thought it would be in the general documents for the airport but I don’t see them there?
Google???
The page will differ from airport to airport.
For EGLC it’s 40-4. For EGLL it’s 10-4.
The numbers are from Jeppesen, courtesy of Navigraph.
While some airports have special noise abatement procedures, NADP 1 & 2 are standard with the U.S. using NADP 2. Here is a good overview: NADP 1 versus NADP 2 - AOPA
Hey thanks for this, I should have been more clear. What I meant to ask is, how can I tell from a chart, if I should be using NABP 1 or NABP 2?
tl;dr it’s very complicated
You won’t see that on a chart almost ever; it’s a part of the text pages, in the LIDOs under Airport → AOI (Airport Operational Information)
And the way it’s framed is different and can be different even between chart providers: take Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (VTBS) as example: in the official, it’s under 2.21.1.1 in the general Noise Abatement Procedures:
All departing aircraft are required to apply noise abatement procedure with thrust reduction at 1 500 FT AGL, And acceleration at 3 000 FT AGL.
but in LIDO, you’ll find it in the Departure section
(thanks very helpful)
and in Jeppesen/Navigraph it’s also in Departure, at the very top: 3.1, same wording as in the official source.
But then you head to Warsaw Chopin (EPWA) and LIDO doesn’t have that info at all, while the official and Jeppesen have a very wordy:
Operators of aircraft conducting flight operations at Chopina w Warszawie aerodrome shall follow noise abatement procedures adequate for the specific aircraft type for the purpose of reducing noise level in areas adjacent to the aerodrome.
If no noise abatement procedures adequate for the aircraft type are available, it is recommended that departures from Chopina w Warszawie aerodrome be performed in accordance with ICAO Noise Abatement Departure Procedure 1 (NADP 1) as specified in the Appendix to Chapter 3 of ICAO Doc 8168 Procedures for Air Navigation Services - Aircraft Operations Vol. I - Flight Procedures, Part I, Section 7.
(from official, what happened to this translation)
And then you have Argentina where this information is in the Enroute part of the AIP, which neither chart provider includes, so you’re SOL unless you really dig into it
Wow thanks a lot, you explained it perfectly as I didn’t know the depth this went. Excellent thank you for real!
What do you recommend the standard I use if I can’t find any information?
NADP 2/ICAO B away from cities (or in the USA), NADP 1 or ICAO A (which I just learned was what that LIDO for Bangkok referred to) closer to cities
That should be close enough, though for most accurate results I’ve just been looking at departures at FR24, ADS-B Exchange etc. - each operator can have their own rules in place
[Career Mode Suggestion] Interactive Hangar & Company Hub
Message :
Hello Asobo/MSFS team,
First of all, thank you for your amazing work on MSFS 2024. As both a real-world pilot and a passionate simmer, this simulator is not only my favorite game but also a valuable training tool that helps me practice and stay immersed in aviation.
I would like to suggest an idea for the Career Mode that could greatly enhance immersion and long-term engagement:
Interactive Hangar & Hub System
Instead of handling everything through menus, players could own hangars at locations of their choice, with the ability to:
Purchase and expand hangars (start small, then grow into larger facilities or multiple bases).
Store and display the fleet inside the hangar, with free movement to walk around.
Interactive maintenance: refuel, wash, or perform basic checks on aircraft directly in the hangar environment (instead of just menu actions).
Company hub / office space: a small office with a computer or desk where players connect to the career system, receive emails or mission requests from clients, and manage their operations.
Mission flexibility: when accepting a mission, allow the player to pick any aircraft from their fleet stored in the hangar (if suitable for the mission).
Why this would be great
Adds a true sense of ownership and progression: you’re not just flying missions, you’re building your aviation company.
Increases immersion by giving players a physical
