So recently Flight Simulator has been giving me some noise crackling/sound popping issues. It starts right after the intro screen when the game music loads in. I have tried lowering my graphics to the minimum, but that did not change anything.
Anyone have any ideas? It’s not a complete game changer but it is noticeable enough. I have also tried changing computer speakers but that did not fix the issue.
You’re a life saver.
So for my Cubase application I had also installed Wave’s sound grid drivers. Even though I still defaulted to real-tek speakers, somehow I guess Waves was clashing with my sound, so no more noise crackling. At least for now. And Flight Simulator is actually playing a bit smoother too!
One thing you may want to check out is a little app called Soundswitch. Once setup, you can easily toggle between playback devices and even recording sources. You can assign a hotkey to do the toggling. As an example, in my case, I toggle between my desktop speakers (onboard realteck) or my Logitech Wireless headphones…and also toggle between my mottherboard microphone or my exernal Wave 3 microphone…I’ve assigned F1 to toggle between my playback devices and CTRL-F1 to toggle between my recording devices…
I’m having momentary breaks in the audio - during the loading of the sim as it transitions to the ‘Welcome’ or Home page (not a big deal but it wasn’t happening before the last update)..and then intermittently during gameplay when the ATC is activated - not just ATC audio either, but a half second of total audio silence - generally just after the ATC window is opened and taxi or takeoff acknowledgment is being delivered..
also a recent development - since the last update
