-All the assists are off
-The steering works BEFORE TAKEOFF
-It completely stops working AFTER LANDING
-Happens only on flights that use AUTOPILOT
-Nose steering axis is set to rudder (as seen on picture rudder is moved but the wheel isn’t)
-All the sensitivities are default.
-steam version, latest non-dev build.
For anyone down the line that maybe having this problem,
I’ve solved it after a day of troubleshooting.
Since this problem popped up after the update (as ever)
you’re forced to bind the option “SET NOSE WHEEL STEERING TO LIMIT” in order to steer the f/18
I’ve cleared the binding and the problem went away to fight another day.
I have zero clue how this relates to auto-pilot or other aircraft systems that don’t even use this bind.
tried that and for me doesnt work. still cant turn but the wheels are turning in the direction i put them plane just goes straight
If the nosewheel turns but the plane continues in a straight line then your are too fast and/or the steering angle is to high.
Futhermore make sure that the yaw damper is OFF.
Wasn’t too fast as I tried after coming to a full stop and it kept going straight and this is with the a300 and fss ejets
Key bind or mod conflict ? Have you uninstalled all mods and checked ?
AI copilot or assistance in use?
no keybind or mod conflict as i dont have the issue with other aircraft just these two. and no assistance are on as i dont fly with them
Doesn’t the MSFS A300 have a separate nosewheel steering tiller which needs to be assigned?
How can you say that if you haven’t deleted mods to check?
well for one didnt have this issue before installing the two so no my other addons arent the cause
You can’t say for certain unless you start from a fresh install with no mods or addons .
why ask for advice and then not take it?
so i tried with no mods and just the single aircraft having issues and still no nose wheel steering so i guess im the idiot that doesnt know how to fix it then. For one the E175 and MD88 do not have a switch in the plane for nose wheel steering like the F18 also keybinds for nose wheel steering are useless as they dont work. So i guess its time to reinstall P3d or xplane 12 since im too dumb for MSFS now. Guess it was going to happen sooner or later. For reference reason i say idiot is cuz there are some lame brains that will say it soon so might as well beat them to it. but honestly everything i have done is of no use settings are the way i have read to set them and still have no steering on landing but have it when i first start the flight.
