Not able to type in EFB with Beluga or A400M on Xbox

Decided to post on here since my attempts on the IniBuilds discord went completely unnoticed.

To note, I am using an Xbox controller in addition to honeycomb peripherals, and I am only having this issue with these specific aircraft. The A320, A321, and A330 all worked just fine.

The issue is whenever I attempt to type in my Simbrief ID, it pops up with the Xbox keyboard, which I type and enter. However, nothing shows up, the EFB still gives me the “Aircraft control disabled when inputting text with physical keyboard” message while no keyboard is visible, and none of my controls work on either my honeycomb or Xbox controller except for a couple, forcing me to restart.

The A330 pops up with the built in keyboard which works perfectly, while the A320 and A321 work just fine with the Xbox keyboard. One thing to note with these ones, they have a “on screen keyboard” option that can be enabled or disabled, which the others do not have.

Any help or responses would be appreciated, wondering if I’m the only one with this issue.

I have the exact same issues.
Would be great if we can add this in the bug report section.

Solution for me was the following:

I connect a keyboard and typed in the sim brief number. Afterwards I wasn’t able to press „enter“. I just restated the game and loaded the plane fully started. Et voila : simbrief connected !

Just tried this out. I’m able to type in numbers, but I can’t enter like you said and restart due to the same issues. Load back in, it doesn’t save the numbers. Any more specific steps you took?

I pressed ESC once and the Menu button on controller, so that I entered the menu.
Then I went back into the game until I saw the rotating cricle down right.
I guess this is the sign for it that it’s saved.

Worked for me in the beluga also now.

That did it! Thank you so much , you just saved half of my sim experience lol. Hopefully they can fix it so it’s not such a tedious process, but I’ll take it!

can you elaborate the process in detail?

Start flight as normal. Go to the simbrief field in the onboard EFB. Connect a keyboard to the Xbox and enter your number. Disconnect the keyboard and switch to the normal menu with your controller. Resume flight and wait until the loading/saving circle down right on the screen shows up.
Quit game with the Xbox button and restart the whole game. Voila !

Happy flyings !

I am in Xcloud on a pc

I think the Inibuild aircraft only accept inputs from the built in inibuilds keyboard. If you go to settings on the Inibuild EFB and enable keyboard you can then use this keyboard to enter data. When the Xbox keyboard comes up just press B to close it.

On xbox in both the A400M and Beluga, there is no option on the EFB to enable or disable the keyboard.

Yes, we should move this to the bug category.

Ive emailed Inibuilds and the person who answered said they would let the team know.

I also wrote a bug report on their discord, but unfortunately I think they didn’t understand correctly. They just said I should close the virtual keyboard. Still not possible.
