Not Seeing Any Rain In Live Weather

I’m on the east coast here in DC and we are getting plenty rain right now. I’m not seeing any with live weather, its barely even what I consider an overcast, looks more like a few clouds. I was getting rain and such a few couple days ago just fine. Now all I get is thunder and lightning and dry conditions, no rain. I am doing something wrong? I even checked other areas that getting rain right now, and i’m only getting few clouds and thunder and lightning, no rain in the sim.

And to add…its not even thundering or lightning here…but it is raining…

Same with me in north Georgia this morning.

Same for Kansai. They were experiencing heavy thunderstorms today and in-game, I see and hear lightning, but no rain.

It’s not live weather. It’s just a forecast of what the weather may be.

Ok even if thats the case, no rain at all? In a storm this size on the east coast right now? Just look at the radar yourself. Theres rain from Maine to SC right now, and i can’t find a drop in the sim. We had light rain and overcast a few days ago and it was in live weather almost perfectly. Now this is an even bigger rain storm and its only broken clouds and lightning and thunder at any location you choose within this storm. I say something is not working properly after this change to add more lightning with live weather in this patch.

I would much rather have the rain and overcast conditions vs some lightning lol

Yep, me 3.

D’ya think we’ll get a patch one day that doesn’t break something?

Welp I finally found some rain. Maybe the weather updates are super behind? Maybe hours? Had to go to a airport further west using the cloud cover on the world map.

Weather is still sporadic. Took off last night around ST. Pete with plenty of rain and storms and today in the same area there is nothing when there should be NW on the panhandle…

You will never, ever, ever see live weather in MSFS2020. It does not use live weather, it uses weather based on forecast, that is the “system” that Asobo have chosen to use.

If you want live weather you will have to wait until 3rd party devs are able to implement it in to the game without intruding on the code of operations.

You could vote here if Live Weather is something that you think needs to be fixed…

I also can’t find any rain. Was in Changsha, China. Gnarly clouds, zero visibility. No rain. I USED to have rain, but haven’t seen a drop since update.

There is a setting for Rain… I think its the Windshield option. Turn it up if not…

I think they keep rain set low-ish by default for performance reasons…

Agreeee!!!

After this new patch no rain with live weather, did tests on many places with rain existing (few days ago working perfectly). Only heavy clouds and no rain. I try find other places…

Yesterday i flew into an ugly rainshaft…It should have rained all the way through the 35-minute flight.
No rain at all and no raindrops on the windshield at all. (windshield effects on high in options)

Well whatever system they use, I used to get at least pretty accurate rain using live weather. Last night was the first time it was raining for at least 6 hours in my area with no rain in the sim. But the funny thing was, there was plenty thunder and lightning that entire 6 hours and not a drop of rain. I just flew during similar conditions a few days ago and it was pretty accurate.

Big storm over Southampton and Portsmouth in the UK last night. Really, really heavy rain for hours and strong winds.

In FS2020, some cloud, no rain and winds at 3Kts.

The ‘live’ weather is actually stone dead.

Voted up.

I get rain when on the ground, plenty of lighting when there should be none and no rain at all in the air when traveling through rain clouds. This is using live weather.

I get constant lightning now even in sunny weather. Since launch never had rain in the sim in live weather.
