Now we can fly the A310-300 and the 747-8 in career mode?

msfs-2024

Hello, I noticed yesterday when I relaunched the game after taking a break since June that I’m now able to purchase and use the Airbus A310-300 and the Boeing 747-8 in my career. For now, I’ve only bought the 747-8, but I’m a bit surprised because I don’t recall seeing anything about this in the SU3 patch notes. I also just read a topic from only 14 days ago where the OP mentioned that these aircraft were still not usable. Did I miss something?

I’m very happy about it, don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining at all, but I’d like to know more about this. Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on the matter, because while these two aircraft (and a bunch of strange flying stuff like drones, too) were previously unavailable without certain certifications, the Dreamliner still remains locked.

I also don’t understand why I’m able to purchase the drone-like flying machines even though I haven’t completed any helicopter qualifications. Thanks, and fly safe!

Can you verify which version of the sim you’re on? I’ve seen this in the SU4 beta but haven’t heard reports from users seeing this in the live version except, potentially, here.

I believe I am indeed on the SU4 beta, since I had to reinstall the game yesterday and, when I checked the Xbox Insider Hub, I saw that I had joined the beta. What misled me is that I used to only own a fleet of 737 MAX aircraft and no other planes. They were still there, but I think that’s because I must have sold all the other aircraft offered by the SU3 beta in order to rebuild my fleet to match the live version.

Thanks for the clarification. I’m a bit disappointed though, because that means I’m still at the same point on the live version with 7 Boeing 737 MAX and no way for now to move on to those dream machines… Too bad.

As far as I have seen those planes can be bought (in SU4 beta) but there are no missions for them because the certification for heavy airliners is not enabled. I think they only produce passive income, something that in beta is not very important.

The key point here is the heavy airliners certification. Until this is enabled we won’t be able to fly the airbuses and the rest of the big machines. I haven’t seen an explanation on why that certification is not enabled yet. And IMHO it does not make sense to allow buying the plane if you cannot fly with it.
