Nuuk, Greenland: brand new airport (IRL); three MSFS/FS2024 versions coming this week!

Hey, in our defense, most inaccuracies were on ground markings - runways and aprons were heavily covered in snow and ice when we visited

This has been fully resolved with v1.1.0 as per other references we were able to gather from videos and photography from pre-opening

One great advantage of visiting the airport in person, however, is that we were able to grab a few 3D scans and images of specific angles of the terminal and other buildings. As a result, we have a high degree of certainty about the dimensions and overall proportions of the buildings, which is particularly tricky with this terminal design. And of course, the little details - airport signage, screens, duty-free shelves and products, etc. Particularly interesting on FS24 as the terminal floors are fully walkable in FPV mode

Oooh. I was wondering when a developer would take advantage of that possibility. That’s really neat, I’ll definitely try that.

Not perfect - you may go through some walls and the escalators don’t work (yet  ), but you can go up and down the stairs and enter any of the modeled rooms at this airport, from check-in at the roadside level, arrivals hall, security and down the stairs into the main waiting area.

This might seem kinda silly, but the one thing that attracted me to the FSDG version is the accurately-modelled multi-coloured houses in the town. They are so uniquely Greenlandic — any plans to do likewise?

We added a whole bunch in the Pinguaraq and Qinngorput neighborhoods, on approach path to runway 04, since those are very visible on approach. But yes, in general OSM coverage in the region is poor and many buildings are either nonexistent or placed incorrectly, so it definitely would benefit if we continue expanding the coverage of the city. Plus I just love the place.

It just takes some time, quite time-consuming.

How’s performance? In 2020…

Is anyone familiar if any of these three developers version has an edge wrt accurate runway data? (elevation, profile/slopes if any).

This is a potential tie-breaker for me.

I’ve never known competition so fierce as it is with this one! M’M are about to drop another update, that includes city POIs. This could sway it in their favour, since their Nuuk is currently discounted.

Any recent comparision between the three versions?
Since MMS has added a lot of city marks
