Nvidia 456.71 drivers causing flickering/ black screen in MSFS 2020.
Made the software unusable. Windows desktop screen is ok. Only exhibits problem when using the flight simulator.

Better report that to Nvidia then, and roll back to a previous (stable) version.

Did you try restarting to see if the issue disappeared?

Works fine on my machine.

No problems with RTX 2060 Super.
no problem with RTX2070super
no prolem with my RTX 2080 Super
No problem here with a 2080Ti
Reported to both MS and NVidia
Pilot error, thankfully. Loose hdmi connector! FIXED.

I had issues in other applications. Solved my issues by completely uninstalling the drivers and doing a clean install.
…and of course no other software that ever existed.
There is actually a problem with this driver. NVidia created a hotfix due to ‘black screen, G-sync and problems with Fortnite’.
I just updated to Nvidia 456.71 , and appear to be getting a significant increase in performance … but I bet that’s just an illusion and wishful thinking.
There is no change regarding MSFS according to the changelog

You might be right.
I just installed the (corrected) 456.71 driver and made ‘before and after’ screenshots. Just like you said, to prevent wishful thinking. But I noticed an increase of 2 valuable frame rates. These screenshots are of identical situations and identical FS settings. First screenshot driver 456.55 and the second 456.71.
