Is there any practical benefit to having the nVidia App installed for FS purposes?
Ive seen the recent articles talking about it potentially tanking performance, but are there any upsides?
It just seems like installing raw drivers is enough.
Thanks for thoughts!
I have found zero benefit of having the NVidia app installed. There are those who like to use the filters, and the settings are migrating from the ācontrol Panelā, but thatās it, and yes it is a beast on FPS, IMHO.

Do the filters work? I tried a few weeks ago and it said it didnāt support 2024
LOL not even certain as I donāt use themā¦.
As mentioned if you arenāt using the filters there is no need.
I personally donāt use them so I just install the GRD no app.
Plenty of other, and much better tools then the nVidia filters in my opinion.

I like using the filters - but as mentioned above there are other options available.
The app itself runs fairly light and the impact of the nvidia filters is about 5/7fps depending on what your changing. Reshade tends to run a good deal lighter
If by the app you mean the Nvidia experience, or what it used to be called, Iāve never noticed an FPS drop with it on. I use it for recording high quality footage, with next to no performance impact.

I recently converted from the GeForce Experience overlay to the new app. I donāt think Iāve ever had an issue with frames because of it, and having the benefits of a framerate counter in the upper corner and an easy to use screen shooter are both big plusses.
I use it. I like it. There is no down side on my system. The App optimises your settings automatically if you wish and does a good job of it. Very close to what I was using in the past.

Well, people who record flights may prefer the Nvidia tool over - for example - Windows Game Bar. For those folks, you need to have the app installed (replacing Geforce Experience).
I like the color grade filters in FS2020, though I donāt think I need them for ā24 (and yes, ā24 is now supported). I also donāt see any performance impact from using the app and having it open absent crazy post-processing with multiple filters running at once; think vingnette, sepia tone, film grain, noise, etc. all going at the same time. And even then itās only a couple FPS - fine for recording cinematics or whatever.
