Nvidia app does not recognize MSFS 2024 install

I installed the newest Nvidia Driver (566.14 from Nov 12th) that is supposed to be game ready for MSFS 2024.

However, the Nvidia App does not find MSFS2024 on my computer. I installed via Steam.

In Settings / Games and Apps, I even explicitly add the install folder of MSFS2024 and re-scanned the locations. Still, it could not find it. It only finds the olds MSFS2020 and VLC (see picture):

Shouldn’ it identify MSFS2024 and give the options to start and configure MSFS2024 when it is a “game-ready” driver, or did I misunderstood this?

That’s strange. I found it quickly after browsing to the folder.

E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Limitless\FlightSimulator2024.exe is there.

Path of MSFS2024: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Limitless\FlightSimulator2024.exe"

Paths, configured in the Nvidia App:

so you confirm, it should appear in the Nvidia app library list, right?

Same issue here. Doesnt detect it even after entering the correct path. Seems to not pickup the .exe file

I will try to re-install MSFS2024 and see if this works. This time, I updated the Nvidia driver after the MSFS2024 install.

@SanMan140579979 Did you also install via Steam?

No…MS store

I was able to add it to the nvidia app. Im on MS store version. So the path for that is the following:
C:/XboxGames/MicrosoftFlightSimulator_1/Content

Maybe so one with steam version can add to this

Ok, congrats. But it seems though, that you had a different problem then, because this path is not set in the Nvidia app by default. Thus, it couldn’t look for the exe. In my situation though, the Nvidia knows about the place where MSFS 2024 is installed and still doesn’t find it.

@SanMan140579979 what files are inside the Content folder?

no success with re-installing MSFS2024. Did anyone else got MSFS2024 recognized by the Nvidia App who did a Steam install?

Nvidia didn’t pickup the install location by default on my end. Even after uninstalling driver and app. Had to manually enter location for this to work. The only issue now is when accessing the overlay menu and filters, only 2 are available.

I think there’s no optimisation data yet for the NVIDIA app, probably still collecting user data, based on different cards and settings? Or do others have optimisation available already, and it being on my end?

Files in Content folder. pretty sure NVapp looks for gamelauncherhelper.exe

ok thanks. It looks more or less like the content in my steam install, so it is the correct folder I configured.

yes, I think this is true indeed. However, as the screenshot by @SanMan140579979 clearly shows, Nvidia app should still recognize the game, which it doesn’t in my case. Because of that - I think at least - I can, for instance, not activate frame generation, even though I am on an RTX 4070 and it works in MSFS 2020.

Same problem here. Nvidia App does not show MSFS 2024. Store version and in the same drive (F:) as MSFS2020. I did enable frame generation using the ingame video settings.

As far as I’m aware, the Nvidia App (and Experience before it) doesn’t just add any program you point it at to the optimization list. I believe that list is only programs that Nvidia has tagged as having video options that can be externally modified by the App, and a program won’t appear on the list until Nvidia has confirmed that and added it to the list of available programs in the App’s database. It looks like they haven’t updated the App to show 2024 yet. I think those updates come as part of the driver updates, so we may have to wait until the next driver release before it shows up in the App.

I don’t have this path. I do have c:/XboxGames/limitless/Content but this path when added to the NVIDIA app doesn’t work. I have the MS Store install. NVIDIA app Version 11.0.01.163

try root drive where MSFS 2024 is installed. i have mine installed on the E drive so this path works

E:\XboxGames\Limitless\Content

Just change to which every drive you have it installed

As far as Game filters, only 2 are available:

RTX Dynamic Vibrance

RTX HDR

here is a screenshot of nvidia app

showing both 2020 and 2024

what I can’t figure out is why only 2 filters. In 2020 you were able to adjust color, brightness, details…etc.
