nVidia App, nVidia Profile Inspector, DLSS Swapper, and NVCP question

I’ve been staying behind on nVidia drivers (currently 577.00) but have decided to update to the latest version as of today (581.29)

I haven’t been installing the nVidia APP, but I’m going to give it a try.

  • Should I keep my nVidia Profile Inspector settings? (I use it to set Preset K, enable rBAR, and set a couple of other things.
  • Should I forget about using DLSS Swapper (since the App overrides DLSS versions?)
  • Should I uninstall nVidia Control Panel? If I do, should I KEEP Profile Inspector?

Thanks.

Hmmm, far be it from me to tell you what you should do; what I can do is share what works on my 7 month old PC (specs in my profile) running Windows Home 24H2. YMMV and this is certainly not the only way to go here. In order of your queries above:

  • I don’t use Profile Inspector and have not altered resizable bar in any way.
  • I do still use DLSS Swapper alongside the NVIDIA APP
  • I can access the NVIDIA Control Panel through the NVIDIA APP, but rarely do so

While I realize that the NVIDIA APP has a checkered past and that many posters dislike it; but for someone who has a recent PC that they did not themselves build from scratch, very likely its there and very useful for many casual users. The power users will have reason to not use it which I respect and certainly do not challenge.

Right now I enjoy great performance with 4k output to a big TV via DLSS4/quality 310.4.0 with Preset K selected in DLSS Swapper. While it could be that I can realize the same outcome with just the NVIDA APP, I like that DLSS Swapper can show the DLSS version in the lower left corner of the sim.

Hope this helps. Looking forward to others’ answers as I can always lean more from folks here. Cheers!

Thanks. I decided to try the App based on positive reports here lately.
Also, I’m coming around more to the K.I.S.S. principle lately when it comes to this sim.

I use EXACLY the combination you do with excellent results. I actually uninstall the NVCP as well.
