Nvidia App reports that the MSFS 2024 game is not optimized

Despite hitting the Optimize button, this app will not show that the game is optimized. I could have sworn that when I first got the game this did show optimized…the 2020 install shows optimized. Card is an NVidia 3060TI. The game seems to run fine but I was just looking at the NVidia app to see if I was on the latest driver, which I am. I clicked on Graphics, Program settings, and it shows “Game isn’t optimized”. Also noted is Citiies Skylines, World of WOrships, and Cities: Skylines II also will not optimize. It is acting like maybe it doesnt like something about the installs? Location? As far as I know everything was installed via the installer…I didnt change any drive paths or anything. This is a Store app as opped to Steam.

Any help would be awesome and I thank you all!

Same happens to me. I have a 4070 TI. Also I have checked that hitting the Optimize button switches from TAA to DLSS, and this is something I don’t want, so I’ve stopped using it,

A couple of days ago I tried with chatGPT. I told it my configurations and the current FPS I can get on cockpit and it suggested some changes, that NOT included change TAA for DLSS. Its recomendations are good.

FWIW, I take the Nvidia app’s optimization as suggestions or recommendations only. They seem to me to be very good starting points for the sim Graphics settings that are closely aligned to what one’s Nvidia card is capable of. From there one can tailor exactly what one wants. For example, I prefer TAA to DLSS and don’t use FG. The app recommends a few Ultras that I have set to High, etc. Only by flying in the sim do I find the sweet spot between the “optimums” and what works for me in flight. Hope this helps folks find their happy medium!

Glad its not me, So sounds like I should definately check TAA as I am not sure what it was on or what it changed if anything. Sounds like I want TAA. Thank you all!! Maybe NVidia will have a better update. I seem to remember on MSFS2020 there was a driver that was basically the one you were supposed to use and to NOT download the game ready updates… so maybe I need to back Rev to an earlier driver?

You may want to search some threads as there are other drivers recommended for your generation of card, I just don’t know which ones off the top of my head. @TenPatrol ?

actually my card is a 3080TI …whats 20ti’s among friends hahah but im sure most of these tips apply to most of the cards out there

I use nvidia profile manager to change to profile F which works well on my 3060ti.
Then using DLSS with the DLSS swapper tool to use the latest version. that works well enough for me with no blurriness and works well. I get some screen tearing but I haven’t looked into what to do about that.

First of all, I’d like to point out that this is the Microsoft Flight Simulator forum, not an Nvidia support forum – so any issues related to the Nvidia app should really be reported on the Nvidia forums
GeForce GRD 572.83 Feedback Thread | NVIDIA GeForce Forums

or through their official feedback form

Secondly, since you’re experiencing the same issue with other games like: World of Warships and Cities: Skylines II, that clearly suggests the problem lies with the Nvidia app itself, not with the games or how they were installed.

And third – and honestly, most importantly – I can assure you that your brain is at least 1000 times better at optimizing games than a buggy Nvidia app. If the games are running fine, you don’t need to rely on the “optimized” label. You’ll get much better results by adjusting the graphics settings manually based on your preferences and performance goals.

For some time now, I’ve been repeating that Nvidia Game Ready Driver 566.14 is one of the last stable versions, in my opinion.
