This just came into MS store as a download so I did download it. Almost coincidentally, I haven’t been able to get past the Monument Valley splash for the past 4 days. Does anyone use this control panel? I’m thinking to simply uninstall it
If you have an NVIDIA GPU you most definately DO need the control panel.
It allows you to ‘set up’ your GPU with your monitor. Further it allows you to set parameters both at a global and individual game level.
Just me but i would always get my drivers from Nvidia .

Even if you get the drivers straight from Nvidia they will still update the Control Panel application through the Microsoft Store. There’s some tricks to avoid that but since I haven’t had any problems with it I haven’t tried that.
Thanks for the help. It turns out that there were MS updates available in the securities/update section. Once updated, msfs booted right up. Usually the new computer has asked for updates/shut down when shutting down the computer but now we know.

My first rule of updates…
Always do a Windows Update before any other software updates.
