worth installing ?

I only installed Nvidia driver and PhysX, without Nvidia Audio and Nvidia App.

Time for test flight LEMD-LFPG.

I could be wrong but these seem to be running a bit cooler than .42

Edit - nope, about the same :slightly_smiling_face:

I just installed the NVIDIA Game Ready Driver Version 572.47 this afternoon and am experiencing issues with 2020. The game loads halfway, then crashes. I uninstalled any mods that I downloaded just before updating the driver, and it still crashes. This has happened in the past, but I’m not sure how it fixed itself. Any suggestions?

The steps for DLSS are still needed right?

Same thing is happening to me also. I have no idea how to fix this issue.

Anyone know whether it already contains the 5090 fix for VR?

Uninstall Nvidia app and restart PC.

OR

Until Nvidia fixes the application, please check what happens if you select DX12 instead of DX11 by manually editing cfg file.

To do this, you need to edit usercfg.opt file and modify the line
PreferD3D12 0

Change the number 0 to 1

and save the changes.

Only if you have a 5070Ti. These Nvidia Driver threads are useless since NONE have any changes for Flight Sim specifically

I’m having the same issue with this driver in MSFS 2024 as I do with the previous driver. And that is, using this driver results in very high CPU usage while flying in Free Flight. CPU usage is normal with this driver in MSFS 2020, but very high in MSFS 2024. Using driver 566.36 results in normal CPU usage in both MSFS 2024 and 2020.

MSFS 2024 CPU usage with Driver 572.16 and 572.47 = 70-90%
MSFS 2020 CPU usage with Driver 572.16 and 572.47 = 17-20%
MSFS 2024 and 2020 CPU usage with Driver 566.36 = 17-20%

All drivers were installed using the “Custom” and “Clean” install options. The nVidia App is not installed. All NCP settings at their defaults. GPU is an RTX 3090 connected via DP to a Samsung Odyssey 49" 5120x1440p display @ 240hz. VRR is off. No background apps are running during game-play. In-game graphics settings were varied to see if they would change the results and they did not.

I have also posted this note on the nVidia forum in case this is an something the team over there can correct.

I’m not exactly sure what’s wrong but something seems off with the latest Nvidia driver. I decided to roll back to version 566.14.

:exploding_head: uff I trust you…I will do the same…

Could you try to explain? I am using this driver and haven’t noticed any difference from the previous one in either sim. I haven’t tried it using DX11 in MSFSS2020 as I know there are still problems.

If Nvidia driver 572.47 is working fine, just leave it as it is. No need to follow my steps.

Same thing here. Here is the event viewer crash info:

Turning on safe mode doesnt help, reverted drivers to 566.14, still broken, uninstalled nvidia app and restarted pc aswell, set PreferD3D12 0 doesnt work either. Uninstalled and Reinstalled, verified the files via steam. Doesnt work. I genuinely dont know what else to do. If you need a crash file or something, let me know.

i get this aswell frequently, seems a few others have had this aswell, ive tried everytning, hopefully it will be fixed in su1,i only fly in free flight

Im going to try and uninstall the game COMPLETELY via revo uninstaller, we’ll see if anything changes.

Welcome to the forum!
Just a quick heads-up - the thread about the Nvidia driver isn’t the right place to ask for help with CTD issues. If you’re looking for assistance with that, I recommend checking out the following thread instead:
