Getting the “S_OK” crash with this driver upon startup. Never have recieved this crash at anytime before this driver update. Reverted back to 556.12, no errors.

I’m going to stick with 555.99 as I’ve not had any problems with this driver. Stable in VR and 2D.

It took me a year to summon the courage to switch from 536.67 to 556.12.
I’m quite happy with the new driver.

I might give 556.12 another try. Thought that driver was causing MSFS2020 to get stuck on loading screen every now and again but thinking about it there was a Win 11 Update last week and I was messing around with settings etc so might be a better driver for me now. Can always revert back if I need to

I thought 556.12 caused a problem with my Tobii Tracker (it quit working right after I used DDU to remove 536.67 and installed an ultra-clean 556.12 driver.
Tobii support assured me that the driver wasn’t the problem.
I got it working, though not very scientifically. It might be that DDU deleted something Tobii needs, or that KB screwed something up, or the ultra-clean driver install I created with NVcleanstall was missing something.
I ended up getting full function by reverting Windows Update KB5039302 and also letting the 556.12 installer uninstall the previous driver (not using DDU, and not using NVcleanstall.)

I suppose everyone’s PC’s are different and what works for one person might not another. Sometimes its the smallest thing that can mess things up and I’m good at trying to do too many things at once then not remembering what setting etc I’ve changed
Think I’ll keep monitoring these posts and when enough people say they’re having no problems with said driver etc then I might update to latest. But my way of thinking is let other people try it out first cause if it isn’t broken then don’t try to fix it.

I got a 7%-9% bump in FPS going from 536.67 to 556.12
I didn’t expect that, but it made me happy.
0.1% Lows were an anomaly at -13%. I need to run that same test again.

I’m getting my brand new Graphics card tomorrow couldn’t justify spending a lot on it, but got it in a sale (not Amazon Prime day lol) so wife can’t kill me. Nvidia RTX 3060 12gb. Big jump up from my current one Nvidia RTX 3050 6GB which I’ll be selling soon so I can go from 16gb Ram to 32gb. So will test 556.12 against 555.99 and 560.70 and post results. Wish I could have gone for a RTX 4 series but way to expensive for me
Maybe one day when the prices go down a bit I’ll upgrade again.

I’ve got this with the driver before this as well, unfortunately. (RTX3060Ti)
All seems to work fine with PCVR with my i913900k/rtx4090. Used DDU beforehand. DX11 and HAGS disabled still seems very stable. No significant improvements over previous 556.12 driver which was already working very well.
Up to you to decide if it’s worthwhile updating nvidia drivers or not. It’s easy to use DDU to uninstall and roll back if you have any issues. Also remember to clear your DX cache and msfs rolling cache after any updates.

I have had no issues with the latest 560.70 driver. All working great so far. Being running DX12 in the game since it was introduced and don’t seem to have any noticeable issues.

With DX12 enabled the screen flashes intermittently as if a flashlight were being turned on and off.

Hi,
How do you clear your space ?
@jdv7777 I just use win11 disk cleanup and clear my DX cache. Also, I go to msfs data settings and disable rolling cache, then delete it, and then enable it again. I haven’t found it necessary to delete nvidia cache since this seems to do that automatically when I use DDU in safe mode and then install the latest nvidia driver.
