Nvidia GeForce Game Ready Driver 572.83 Discussion Thread

FWIW no issues for me with this driver on the 5070Ti. Cheers!

As I have noted before both in this thread and elsewhere, DLSS implementation in MSFS 2024 appears to not be fully compatible with DLSS 4. Turn DLSS off and you’ll have no more issues with the 572.xx branch drivers.

I had to reload win 11 dev mode and reinstall MSFS2020 and suddenly it was a new sim. I only have a Intel 12700 and RTX3070ti and since the install I run all setting high end and using frame gen mod I think Nvidia app optimised settings only. I’m not using Nvidia inspector setting and I get 60fps all the time . Used settings in Nvidia app. the optimised and latest frame gen settings..and all I can say the sim has never worked this well in 4 years. Smooth as silk hope they do not fook it up with a update again.

Sorry typo, old eyes dont see that well anymore sadly.

I have been experiencing app crashing on the Start up loading screen, it won’t even enter the main menu. I have a RTX 5070 with the 572.83 drivers.

Any ideas? it crashes every time on the Bespoke Airports image.

FYI, with Nvidia driver 572.16/572.42/47/60,70,83 Nvidia app and DX12 selected in MSFS 2020 a CTD won’t occur.

However, with DX11 selected in MSFS 2020, using the same latest Nvidia driver and Nvidia app, a CTD will occur.

Until Nvidia fixes the application and Asobo MSFS 2020/2024, please check what happens if you select DX12 instead of DX11 by manually editing cfg file.

To do this, you need to edit usercfg.opt file and modify the line
PreferD3D12 0

Change the number 0 to 1

and save the changes.

OR

If you need Nvidia app, make sure to select DX12 instead of DX11 in Nvidia app and the profile for MSFS 2020.
// optimize MSFS 2020

OR

If Nvidia app installed go to:
c:\ProgramData\NVIDIA
delete folder named NGX

Is this driver still the best in terms of MSFS2024 and Sim Update 1 ? Cause i still got some stutters when paning around the camera in the cocklpit. My driver is 537.83 with a 4090 GPU

I would recommend using the driver, that gives you the most system stability and the FG features you need, if you use them. There are so many reports of stuttering on this forum, that I don’t think it is solely related to a driver version, but more related to streaming performance and latency issues and it is being discussed in multiple threads.

How about 566.45 (Hotfix) That was build to adress the stutter issues ?

I’m using an RTX 4090 also. I suggesting trying 576.28. That is what I am using and don’t have any stutters. I did just after installing the driver and did also prior to this driver (although it happened during landing). Clearing the shader cache solved the problem. From now on I am going to clear this after each driver install.

But you are also on Sim Update 1 and have now stutters with camera movements and changing the views ?

installed the 566.45 hotfix driver yesterday, and so far, it’s been running noticeably better than 566.36. It might be placebo, but to me, the stutters during camera movement seem significantly reduced — if not completely gone. Curious to hear if anyone else noticed similar improvements?

I was using 572.70 and decided to try FSR3 Frame Gen with my 3090 Ti 24GB.
First time I’ve been able to use FG.

The Good:

  • I was able to set everything (and I mean everything except LOD as noted below) in the graphics options to their max value and still see 100 FPS flying @ 1700 AGL over Heathrow/London area. This was using the ‘Few Clouds’ Preset with AI Trafiic OFF. TLOD=140, OLOD=160

The Bad:

  • Pretty horrible random screen tearing, random flickering, and color shifting. My 4K 144Hz monitor uses Adaptive Sync, and Gsync is ON in NvCP.

The Better:

  • I used DDU to remove the 572.60 driver and updated to 572.83, cleared the Shader Cache (but not Rolling Cache) and started the flight again. Other than a very brief flicker when the camera switches views automatically before starting the flight in the air, everything looks much, much better. No tearing, no flickering during flight, and colors look good and stable.

ETA: Flying over a wind farm off the East coast of England, I notice a weird shadow effect from the blades. Probably some minor artifacting from FSR3. Not too bothersome, but I’ll play around with some graphics settings to see if I can get rid of it.

Bottom line: FSR3 lets me max out my graphics options. Many thanks to the developers who worked hard on SU2 and gave us that feature - along with many other improvements to this wonderful sim. Thanks also to the users who participated in the SU2 Beta. Keep up the good work. It’s been six months, but FS 2024 is getting there.
