NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready Driver 576.40 Discussion

It’s not that often MSFS is mentioned in an nvidia release note. But as previously asked, I don’t understand what’s really new with these 576.40 as we were already able to activate feature with the override feature of the nvidia app.

This app and its settings has caused issues for me in both flight sims. In 2020, as soon as I start screen recording in the app and move my head tracker, the screen tears. If I turn off the recorder it doesnt go away. In the 2024 sim the gauges flicker only when the prop is at idle. Things were perfect until the app and the 4-30 driver update. The May 12th driver didn’t help. RTX 4060 Ti

Is there anything I need to turn on to get better performance in the nvidia app before going into the sim ?

4090 graphic card if that matters

I also had this error 3 times today, it crashed after 30…40 minutes flying and had exactly the same message. Checked my GPU-CPU temps and they were normal. Nvidia 5090 card and AMD-7800X3D

Did it work for you when rolling back to 576.28?

In the MSFS 2024 profile in the Nvidia app set DLSS Override - Model Presets to “Latest” and Power Management Mode to “Prefer maximum performance”.

A similar problem. When you go back to 576.28, the problem goes away.
MSFS 2020, dx12, 7800x3d, 4080s.
Maybe it’s related to overclocking.
I remember when the first driver with support for the transformer model was released. Many people had stable overclocking before, and encountered problems when turning on this model. I also saw cyberpunk crashes. I had to look for a stable acceleration limit again. Maybe it’s the same problem now. I’ll try to overclockout and test it one of these days.

576.40 uses Dlss v310.1.0 for msfs2024 and I think it’s smooth than before

I have gone back to 572.83 with my new 5080 on the advice of ASUS and it has been stable since the downgrade.

Have to say that I am very happy with the card as I have pushed it to the limits with all the settings blazing and it is running at only 50% of capacity and drawing 100-120W.

I have been running TAA antialiasing and AMD FSR3 FG.

I can change now the FSR3 to DLSS and I see the 2x 3x and 4x options, without changing the drivers.

Does not seem to be any reason for me to mess with a new driver?

PS I ran the DLSS 3X on the ILS into SFO, which is my test, and it had slightly more stutter using CapFrameX than the AMD FSR 3 2X.

All seems quite smooth for me so far on two flights in FS2024.
5950/3090/64GB/Win11, 4K, DLSS Performance, DLSS override latest, r(e)Bar : OFF, FSR3 FG, FS2024 SU2 beta.

It even helped with my performance landing into Ini’s premium EGLL, but there are still issues in SU2 that are preventing this from being smoother.

Thanks I’ll give that a shot I did set it to k before my flight but not latest and didn’t touch power settings

It seems nice nvidia version 576.40, less GPU temp, less GPU load and little less GPU VRAM used on my asus 4090. It’s smooth and also in VR is better performance (10-15%). No CTD until now.
I use TAA 100% res in 4K, and DLSS quality in VR.

No issues to report with this driver running my 5070Ti. That said, I’m getting as smooth 55-60 FPS in TAA so I have not been using any of the FG options, as there is no need for them with this kind of performance.

Please tell me which dx is used in this case.

Only use DX12 in both 2020 and 2024.

Tried 576.40 today and msfs2020/dx12 hung on me when changing starting locations. So, back to 576.28 and all’s well again.

PCVR with QPro using link cable at 900mbps max dynamic bitrate. Win11 pro, i913900k/rtx4090/64Gb 6400ram.

One thing I found a bit confusing. With dlss overrides and presets set to latest my show dlss indicator with 576.40 showed version v3.8.10 with preset E. With 576.28 it shows v310.2.1 preset K. Not sure why it did this???

With 576.40 (before it crashed) I did notice a few blurry edges on the top of buildings. Back to 576.28 and these top of building edges were perfectly sharp.

Used DDU in safe mode to uninstall previous drivers in both cases, and did clean installs. Used nvidia control panel to set global and per game settings, then nvidia profile inspector to set global dlss overrides and presets to latest.

I uninstalled nvidia app a while ago and don’t install it because last time it changed a bunch of my msfs2020 settings, even though I disabled that option in settings, and then needed to redo quite a few of these later.

Hello all,
Is anyone else getting the following error while running MSFS 2024 since the last NVidia Driver update (576.40) "Your graphics device has encountered a problem and Microsoft Flight Simulator will exit "? The GPU is running at a Temp of 42C.
https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/6422969348508--Your-graphics-device-has-encountered-a-problem-and-Microsoft-Flight-Simulator-will-exit-error-message
Even after I did a clean install of these drivers. And there is no overclocking of any kind. I am running an RTX4070 Ti Super and an Intel i9 149000K and 64GB RAM.

originals DLSS or swapped to 310.2 ?someone here told that the new driver uses 310.1 for the sim . but i swapped to original files to check and for me its still 3.7.20 . maybe will be on original su2 release .

Ok, here’s a good one for the experts. Running 5070 here with 16gb. After updating to 576.40 I noticed that my heading on any airplane was 50 degrees off! I returned to 576.02 after noticing this and everything returned to normal. Thoughts?

Not an expert here, but FWIW I have not experienced any heading defects in the current or any other recent NVIDIA driver for my 5070Ti. Which airplane model(s) did you observe this and was it repeatable across models and/or flights?

Noticed the heading defect on PMDG 777-200ER, Inibuilds A350, and 737 MAX. At different airports too. PMDG 777 also gives me an invalid runway message.
