Anyone know if the nvidia filters are back working again with this hotfix? I really hate flying with the base sim colours/softness
Nvidia filters freeze the sim for me if I use FG for a long time now, not just with the recent drivers. As I am not going to fly without FG I quit on using the filters until they fix it.
I havenāt tried updating to the hotfix myself as I asked this question in another thread on this forum and someone said that the filters were still not working.
Like you I find the sim almost unflyable without the filters as I canāt adjust the image to be able to see the guages or get the outside view looking good.
Iāve never had any Issues using the filters. Many people seem to suggest they reduce fps or cause stutters or as TranquilitySea said freeze the sim with FG but I donāt see any of these problems. They are working fine for me using AMD FSR3 on my 2080ti GPU, just no filters available in the latest version and the hotfix (so I have been informed).
livekernelevent 141 crashes in VR in virtual desktop after 30 mins on this hotfix driver, I see someone else in the VD discord with the same issue and driver so am rolling back to previousā¦
Looks like people are still having serious issues with 50 series cards
Iāve never had an issue with any nVidia driver when using Precision X to regulate my GPU overclock and fan speeds.
The nVidia drivers forum is particularly annoying in that regard. The number of nonsense comments there is typically off the charts.
As Iāve said previously in multiple places on this forum, for pre-5000 series cards, 566.36 seems to be the best option for most games. If it aināt broke . . .
But 566.36 doesnāt support the latest DLSS 4 features/options. This are only available > 572.xx
True, but the implementation of DLSS 4 starting with the 572.xx branch is EXACTLY whatās causing issues. Regardless, all DLSS is good for is bragging rights on FPS. With the possible exception of the DLAA setting, DLSS (by design) dumbs down the graphics quality to the point that the visual beauty of any game is adversely compromised. Hence, I donāt use DLSS of any form in favor of having all the visual quality the game and my monitor are capable of.
Bottom line, if you have a pre-5000 series card and havenāt succumbed to nVidiaās DLSS hype, stick with 566.36.
Iāve found dlss4 (with overrides) to be a big improvement over dlss3 with my 2.5yo rtx4090 in PCVR with msfs2020. The secret to getting TAA-like cockpit clarity is to add some super sampling (upscaling) beforehand. I apply 1.30x SS and with dlss/balanced my cockpit clarity is 99% as good as I can get with TAA. Also, better distance clarity without any annoying shimmering (esp. night lighting). Each to their own I guess. Still on 576.02 without any issues, nor did I have any with 572.16 btw.
Interesting! Which headset do you use and where do you apply the upfront SS factor of 1.3?
@HeikoJ2709 With msfs2020 I mainly use my 2.5yo Quest Pro with Link cable and sometimes use my 1.5yo Q3 with Air Link. In both cases I use the Oculus Debug Tool (ODT) pixel density setting = 1.30. For other headsets you may need to use different tools like, for example, the unsupported OpenXR Toolkit or SteamVR % visual settings. Cheers mate.
FYI, another new hotfix driver 576.26 is now available for all you rtx5000 series users.

Recently upgraded to a RTX 5080 and had been enjoying excellent performance and buttery smooth flights with my Reverb G2 for a few weeks. This was all on driver 576.02
Yesterday, I updated to the hotfix driver 576.15ā¦I hadnāt noticed any temperature issues, but figured Iād rather be safe.
Last night, and tonight have been the worst performing flights Iāve had since SU2 beta started. An absolute stutter fest on approach and landing. Clearly VRAM related.
Iāve now reverted back to 576.02, but unfortunately wonāt be able to test it out until tomorrow night.
Has anyone else with a 5080 noticed that with 576.15?

Yesterday, I updated to the hotfix driver 576.15 on a recommendation, due to potential GPU overheating on the 576.02 driverā¦which I hadnāt noticed, but figured Iād rather be safe.

Has anyone else with a 5080, or any GPU for that matter, noticed this issue with 576.15?
Yes, I also have a 5080 and I had a similar experience with the hotfix so I rolled back to the official drivers.
And all is well now, I assume?
