Yeah nice way to soft sell that it shut of YOUR OWN monitoring software there nVidia thus fans were not working properly and we were all having little BBQ’s while getting some killer benchmarks
Nvidia app shows incorrect date for me with the hotfix installed; the driver the hotfix is based on is from Wed Apr 16, 2025, so either today or that date should be there - just wanted to point that out, since it can seem like the driver is not up-to-date.
Exactly same performance as 576.02, so no bummer here.
Slightly less fps than 572.83. But 83 gave me some problems with FG; just in some AC like the AS CRJ for some reason.
FG 2x works very smoothly now, and I have had some amazing flights in the A300 (one of the worst performing AC - but worked ok/stable, beautifull flight from KPIT to KORD in sunset, nice cloudcover, breaking below with 1000s of lights from the city, passing over Midway) and the CRJ.
SO: works good here, stable/no ctd’s, FG ok (not tried 3/4x), no stutters when landing (maybe a small one on 2nm final), but seen fps slightly higher…
I installed this hotfix yesterday and MS20/MS24 VR CTD every flight. Anyone can tell me please because I’m just tired off all this: witch driver is now safe and bug free to enjoy VR?
I don’t use custom fan curves or ever put my PC to sleep/hibernate so I don’t see the point in installing this hotfix. Nvidia 576.02 is working very well with msfs2020 (2024 still uninstalled) and my rtx4090 flying PCVR so I’ll stick with it until nvidia releases a new QC’d driver.
Also, I saw some user comments that said the hotfix automatically installs the Nvidia app, which I don’t like using. Nvidia control panel and nvidia profile inspector is all I use right now.
Hotfix doesn’t automatically install the Nvidia app, it gives you an option to install it or not. I installed it to have the latest presets without having to mess with Inspector and DLSS swapper and have no problems at all.
First flight on 576.15 in progress now. Working fine in the 5070Ti, nothing untoward to report so far. Also no issues with the Nvidia app in my 2 month old PC.
Thanks @skypilotYTS and @TranquilitySea . Good to know that hotfix updates allow you to do the normal custom install that lets you avoid installing the nvidia app. Hard to trust user comments from other forums/sources sometimes, lol!
The problem that I had recently with the nvidia app was that it automatically optimized/changed my msfs2020 settings, even though I disabled this settings option and selected revert. I then needed to redo a lot of my msfs2020 settings. I also saw that the nvidia app showed 2x msfs2020 programs. I thought that maybe one was PC settings and the other VR settings but both seemed the same. Not sure why?
I’m still finding it best/easiest to use the good old nvidia control panel app to fine tune global and app specific 3d settings, followed by using nvidia profile inspector (latest version) to set the 3x global/common dlss overrides to latest version and presets (currently K).
Also, when updating from 576.02 do you think it’s still a good idea to use DDU in safe mode beforehand? Thanks.
When I installed the hotfix I just selected clean install and don’t have any issues. I only use DDU when I have problems, normally it is not needed.
And whenever I install the Nvidia app the first thing I do is turning the optimization slider to the off position, never had the app optimizing my games against my will doing that.
I haven’t tried the hotfix driver yet, but 576.02 is causing my sim too freeze, with only the audio working on every single flight in MSFS 2024. I have a 5060 ti, so i can’t roll back. Looks like this hotfix driver doesn’t fix the issue either.
I’m back to 566.36, two months ago I done clean install of FS and Windows. I reset BIOS settings. Nothing changed: CTD on every flight. FS20 and FS24. I don’t know what to do anymore.
