Is the 577.00 still ok to use generally (don’t drivers update vulnerabilities?). I am tempted to go back to 577.00, but is this ok with all the other games on my PC?
I mentioned somewhere on the forum that newer drivers also include security updates. As for whether 577.00 will work well with all of your other games, that’s something you’ll have to test yourself. Every game can behave differently depending on the driver version.
I decided to add a few more words about this driver.
The NVIDIA hotfix driver 610.82 is working well for me. So far, I haven’t noticed any issues (RTX 5090 4K). Of course, I’m excluding the known problems mentioned in the changelog.
I’ll also add that I have always been against using DLSS, but since this hotfix version I have set DLSS Override to M Quality in the NVIDIA driver settings, and it works fine.
The only thing that bothers me a little is the ghosting on moving digits when the Fenix or PMDG aircraft are climbing quickly. However, I think I’ll probably get used to it.
MSFS2024 is not a typical game — it’s a massive DX12 rendering engine with heavy VR load.
It behaves more like a professional rendering application than a shooter or RPG.
This is why Studio drivers often perform better in MSFS VR.
True or not? Shouldn’t we use game ready drivers at all for this reason?
You should test it yourself and see which driver works better for your particular setup. Every hardware and software configuration is different, so there is no universal answer.
EDIT
NVIDIA Studio Drivers provide artists, creators, and 3D developers the best performance and reliability when working with creative applications. To achieve the highest level of reliability, Studio Drivers undergo extensive testing against multi-app creator workflows and multiple revisions of the top creative applications from Adobe to Autodesk and beyond.
