Please use this thread to discuss the NVIDIA Hotfix Version 591.67

GeForce Hotfix Display Driver version 591.67 is based on our latest Game Ready Driver 591.59

This hotfix addresses the following:

  • Slight banding may be observed on gradients in SDR color mode [5720512]
  • Colors are not applied correctly when using Digital Vibrance [5718365]
  • Unable to deselect “Show Notification Tray Icon” from NVIDIA Control Panel [5622213]

Running on my 5080 OK so far.

It works well here, no more flickering with my 3080.

Just for the record here the 5080 also likes this driver and this image from SFO is running at 80 FPS at 4K with all the traffic injected and a custom FlightBeams airport using 300 TLOD and OLOD.

Happy for Xmas in San Francisco:

Thanks for the info. Good to hear that the 5080 works so well with this driver. I’ll be testing it myself soon on an RTX 4090 together with a new 4K OLED AOC Agon Pro AG326UD monitor, so I’m curious how it performs. I’m keeping my 1440p MSI OLED monitor for ETS/ATS and similar games.

Yes, been shocked at how well it works. Has been a steady improvement through the Betas. I should knock on wood now.

I have been doing some debugging of some IFR procedures and going into a number of complex airports like JFK and it still runs fast. VR runs at 40 FPS before the FG in my Q3 runs it up to 80. However, in VR the performance takes a hit transiently down to 30/60 at SFO but creeps back up I guess as it fills cache. Still looks good. The GPU is only running at 70% capacity and it seems to be primarily CPU limited even with a Ryzen 7950.

What CPU are you running with this? I have no way to not max my VRAM with my 5080 in SU4 on 1440p and it is killing me.

I am running a Ryzen 7950. My rig was originally designed to do astronomy image processing. I had a 3070ti just for the CUDA Core to run AI noise reduction techniques. As a pilot could not resist running MSFS 2024 on the system and upgraded to the 5080 for my birthday. I got the ASUS model since I have an ASUS motherboard.

It is still CPU not GPU limited. Can throw everything at the GPU and it still only runs 70%. The Ryzen 7950 is very similar to the 9950 in terms of speed. We are limited in MSFS to probably the two fastest cores… I could go on as this is a lot of fun for me.

How are you set up for setting and VRAM usage?

AMD x3D is your friend.

I got an X version right when they came out not the x3D… main thing it is that it is very fast. I looked into the numbers but it is above specs and no need to OC. If I just try a touch of OCing it crashes…. same with GPU… life is simple.

I have been experimenting with VRAM and with all the settings up high I run to around 80% but the GPU itself stays down at 70%

I can hear it run but I think it is OK.

I believe they did some optimization in SU4…

Many users are complaining about performance issues (stuttering and/or audio stuttering) when flying Fenix Airbus aircraft.

Santa was generous this year and I received, among other things, the Fenix bundle, so I was able to test performance flying the A321 with this NVIDIA driver and a new 4K OLED monitor.

Settings were Ultra, LOD 230 / TLOD 200. I tested with Live Traffic enabled and set to Ultra as well. In my case, GPU usage on the RTX 4090 was around 70%. I did not experience any stuttering or audio stuttering.

Overall, this is a very good driver.

PS: I did not check whether I would get CTDs with DX11 during MSFS 2020 loading. I mainly fly MSFS 2024 now, so I don’t really have time for MSFS 2020 anymore.

Congrats for your new Christmas gifts.
And thanks for sharing your experience with the last Nvidia hotfix. Reading your post i assume that it worth to try It.

In my case i have a Ryzen 7 9800x3D, RTX 5080 / 1440p/ 64GB RAM @6000mhz
2TB Samsung 9100 PRO nvme .

Since SU 4 I mainly use FS2024 with FSLTL and BATC

Thanks. We actually have a very similar gaming setup. In short, I’m running an MSI X870E Carbon WIFI, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 4090 and 64GB of G.Skill 6000 CL26 RAM with tightened timings.

You should give this driver a chance. I completely removed the previous driver using DDU in Windows Safe Mode, then installed the new one. In the NVIDIA Control Panel, for the MSFS 2024 profile, I capped the FPS at 60 and set the power management mode to Prefer maximum performance, Vsync - On (off in game).
So far, it’s been running very solid on my side.

Yeah, I was follow your specs to build my new rig.
Except for the motherboard. (MSI Tomahawk X870E) and the RAM (Corsair vengeance DDR5 @6000 CL30)
and obviously the GPU (MSI RTX 5080 )

I’m gonna try your sertings, but I have an HP x32 IPS 165hz monitor with no. Gsync compatibility and after trying various settings ( Fps caps etc..) I noticed that the best smoother experience was to set the Vsyng 1/2 in game and use Lossless Scaling in adaptative mode because I use tobii eye tracker and works better for me than using FG in game sertings.
Also I set my texture resolution to Medium in game to keep some headroom of my 16 GB VRAM.
But definetly I will give a chance to try your settings.

First couple of flights with this driver extremely succesfull on MSFS2024 with the PMDG 738. On the previous driver I was getting stutters when looking down at the FMC, then looking back up out the window. Was very annoying. This driver seems to be much better!

Have you tried using NVIDIA’s Smooth Motion?

I have a setup similar to yours, but I set my VSync to Adaptive (Half Refresh Rate) at 240Hz.

I cap my FPS at 120 using RivaTuner, and Smooth Motion doubles my 60 to 120.

It feels super smooth, definitely worth a try.

Back in August I created a dedicated forum thread specifically for discussing NVIDIA Smooth Motion. You might find it helpful to continue the discussion and share your experiences in the linked thread below, so everything stays in one place and others can benefit too.

This driver still working well for me. I continue to crank up the settings and the VRAM increases but the GPU use stays constant…

how about msfs2020 ?
