Nvidia gtx gpus?

How are all of you with older gtx cards running on the new updates? I’m on a gtx 1070 with great results!

I am using an EVGA 1080TI and gave no issues at all.

16GB RAM + Ryzen 5 3600
GTX 1080 working fine and even in VR (quest 2).

I had to re-install the sim though (but i guess it is unrelated to the graphics card)

Very cool! Glad to see more happy simmers! I’m on i7 9700k, 32 gig ram,gtx 1070 , 1TB m.2nvme. Very happy on 1080p.

Glad to hear! I just updated from an I7-7700K to an I9-11900K and saw quite a big difference in performance. I have no plans to upgrade my GPU with the performance I am getting now.

running on 1080 strix no issues, most settings on high ultra. Cpu 5800x

I can run on high/ultra in 4K on my gtx 1080 founders edition with a 6700K intel processor overclocked to 4.5ghz and get between 22 and 30 fps on average depending on the complexity.

It’s great for me frame rate wise on a I7-9700K at 5 GHz with a gtx1060 3gb card, getting 36-42fps over london. Settings are mostly high, with AF and AS controlled by Nvidia control panel instead of in the sim. I’m planning on upgrading to rtx3060 12gb when able to though.

Problem I’m getting is sudden drops in frame rate to 1fps when on approach to all airports I’ve flown into lately for a freeze of up to 30 seconds. I’m thinking its core 7 going to 100% that’s causing this, but it’s only started happening since hotfix 2.

I’m also missing buildings at airports whether PG is on or off. With or without rolling cache.

I’m trying to work out what’s going on but no amount of changes I make to settings or the system is making a blind bit of difference.

EDIT: May have found the culprit, it seems that when AI traffic models are set to generic ON I don’t have these stutters coming into airports any longer.

HP Gaming Desktop, medium level. 34 fps fixed via nvidia-system, medium/high/ultra(clouds), gtx 1060ti, streams with 130 Mbps, without rolling cache, low noice from hardware, low temperatures CPU/GPU. Smooth running, satisfied with my settings. I take care with new modifications and run all updates.

If the sim didn’t crash every five minutes I’d tell you. It WAS running great. The update absolutely ruined the sim.

Are you guys all running the latest Nvidia drivers? I am running one of the older ones right now…457.30 I believe.

2 x GTX 1080 for me in SLI (I know SLI is not supported by the sim, but second GPU runs at 25% offloading background tasks)

CPU is Ryzen 5800X, memory 64GB 3200 Mhz. Huge rolling cache on dedicated SSD

Can get steady smooth 30FPS with all (visual) settings at ultra, clouds set to > clear sky on 4k over densely populated cities, airports low level and high level. No pop-ins at all other than very infrequent close up textures (hardly noticeable). TrackIR too.

Totally thrilled…

Yes ,I am on Nvidia’s latest drivers(always)

I ran a 1080ti until about February and it was pretty ok with most settings to ultra running a 1440@120 monitor plus a 1080@120 monitor on the side (not in game)
It could not push workable frames in VR in fs2020 though (despite VR being pretty good in other games)
With the performance boost for older kit that SU5 brought I’m fairly certain that it would be even better (although maybe not for VR)

Hmmmm, not sure quite how much “older” it is, but I am running a 1660ti on an i7-9700 with 32 gig ram and two M1 2TB SSD’s. I was originally getting high 20s and low 30s with the important settings at Ultra. Since SU5 I am quite simply amazed with the change - now getting high 40’s to mid 50’s to low 60s (depending where I am flying) with the same Ultra settings and increasing the two LOD settings to 130 each. I have always been a visual simmer for decades, and I am totally impressed with the graphics clarity and detail I am getting. I am not thinking of upgrading my card, but if I was I would be hard pressed to justify spending $$thousands for a new one.

I built my pc specifically for MSFS 2020, but with a bit of a modest budget. By catching some deals and sales, I was able to settle on what I now have, and I am completely satisfied.
