Nvidia recommended settings

Are there any sim pilots here using the recommended settings by Nvidia app 2025? What were your findings by doing so?. I ask because I tried it today out of curiosity and was somewhat surprised with the performance on both sims after optimising I never used FG or most of the settings Nvidia put on Ultra. My performance was great with these settings today. Practically 0 stutters and increased FPS on both sims. Even halfing the fps because of FG was still much higher than I’ve had with my lower med/high settings. I see lots of post that trash their recommended settings and app usage. Help me understand as I’m shocked at performance using them. Am I lucky? Fortunate? I did remove my frame cap of 60. Could that be the reason. What am I missing

Hi @TogetherSpark69 ,

Thank you for your post! Your topic has been moved to a sub-category of the User Support Hub

The mostly balanced FPS friendly/quality settings for me in 2024 and 2020 are those we receive after installation.
As for the settings from Nvidia app I also use them and they are good enough. However for my 4060 8 gig I always receive all the important to me settings (LODs, texture quality, buildings/grass and so on) on minimum. But yes, the are good looking, I just set clouds on Ultra. With DLSS 310.1 I can even use FG and fly B737 from/to JFK with sufficient FPS (24-30).

You forgot to include the graphics settings for MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. You also didn’t provide the exact PC configuration.

I haven’t a clue if this is good or not, but the 2024 sim run great with these settings.

Everything is clear now. There are no miracles in your settings but I do see that DLSS is set to Performance and FG (fake frames) is enabled, OLOD and TLOD - 150. These settings, among others have a huge impact on your perception that performance is better. DLSS setting is quite low.
I have no idea why someone at Nvidia thinks it’s a good idea to set Airtraffic to Ultra - this setting adds a lot of unnecessary static airplanes at airports and negatively affects performance.

In any case, I haven’t found anything extraordinary so we can move on to more productive activities

I wasn’t directly asking or posting this for only YOU. More productive activities? Really? Was that needed?

When I wrote, " I haven’t found anything extraordinary so we can move on to more productive activities" I was joking!
It’s a shame you took my last line seriously instead of as a joke

Understood. but in person humor is easier to judge from expression. My bad. This is the only forum I’ve ever been a part of. I read most of your post here, and some are quite helpful and in depth, but you have a strange sense of “humor” in your post replies sometimes that" Pokes the Bear." I now know. We’re not all professionals as yourself. I don’t have the PC knowledge of you, and quite a few others here, but reach out embarrassed most times because of, hoping for understandable solutions from a PC Amateurs point of view. My sim runs better with these settings, perception or not, guess that’s all that matters. Even if I or you don’t understand why. See ya round the forums. No hard feelings. Mods can close this topic.
