Nvidia Settings!

Hello guys ,
I have one question concerning my Nvidia Settings .
I have an RTX4080
In my Geforce Experience there is an Option To Optimize Msfs !
If i go ahead and Optimize the game , then my Ingame settings from Ultra are set to High and a few to Medium !
I think that the Performance is better now , than having all of my settings set to Ultra !
I get much better frames and smooth flight .
If i follow Nvidia’s suggestion to lower my settings , do i lose anything ?
Visuals … etc ?

The Nvidia Geforce optimisation tends to lower the ingame default settings.
First of all if you are satisfied with this Nvidia settings keep them.
If you want to improve some visuals try the result of setting ultra on them.

Each person has their visual preferences, in my case I have started from my default MSFS settings, which are High-end, and I have reduced those sections that are less important to me.
A compromise between visual performance and GPU temperature is important to me, so I limit the FPS to 30.

Yes you would, because to gain better performance other aspects of the visuals would need to have lower settings that is why in-game you have pre sets of computer type optimum settings.

The Nvidia experience app tends to favor ultra performance in an extreme fashion.

MSFS in-game “default” settings tends to favor visuals, but not in the extreme way Nvidia’s AI approaches this.

I would just leave it at whatever MSFS sets as your default, then from there:

  • Set water waves to medium
  • Set cockpit refresh rate to low
  • Set buildings details one step lower than whatever the default gave you. So if it gave you ultra, set it on high and so on…

Start from here.

The best way to find out is to try/experiment and see for yourself…

Topic moved from General Discussion.
“Tech Talk” is the sub-category meant for simmers to discuss, ask or answer any questions related to sim installation, performance, crashes (CTDs), graphics and optimization, hardware, peripherals, community folder/add-ons, and anything that falls under the umbrella of “running the sim”.

even if it may be a bit outdated, this thread is pretty usefull to get an idea on how each graphic setting impact the game with screenshots.

The “optimization” settings can be customized by using the wrench icon. A slider is displayed showing graphics at one end and performance at the other. By default, the slider is positioned at the optimal optimization, a blend of graphics and performance, which may or may not be optimized for you.

One overlooked feature is the ability to easily revert to the prior settings if the new settings are garbage. Of course, this can be done manually outside of GE.

I’ve found that for me GE is more than just an optimizer, it is a graphics manager. I use three other graphics applications and use GE to manage and optimize their settings as well. Without GE it would be impossible to optimize and manage all the different settings for my various applications.
