NVLink Supported?

Will MSFS support dual 2080Ti in NV Link configuration?

I really hope so… could you imagine NVLINK 3090’s?

It looks like I can’t fit the 3-series into my case (it’s 3/4ā€ longer) so I’m curious if adding another 2080Ti would give me a boost. Right now I’m pushing 100% usage on it in 4K Ultra

I would recommend the 3080, I don’t believe it’s too much longer if it all right?

Yeah 3080 releasing Sept 17 so a few days. Cheaper than the 2080ti’s too. I’m waiting for the 3090 on the 27th but I’ve heard dual GPUs dont really help as much as you’d think. Not sure

From what I have read dual GPU’s is no longer being supported by NVidia especially with the latest GPU’s coming out.

Only on the 3080/3070. The 3090 still has NVLink SLI

I wouldn’t get my hopes up. Only chance it will support dual cards is if they go to DX12. Upgrading your case should only cost a fraction of a 3080.

At the point I am in my PCs life cycle a new case would mean a completely new PC. I’m just curious about extending the life of this one a bit. I’m already in the market for a new CPU/MB. Combine that with a new case and GPU and it’s basically a whole new machine. This one is 8 years old.

Its just that… considering the bugs in the game I think it would only get worse trying to get it to utilize multi-GPUs… so I actually hope the devs keep away from that. If they focus that time into fixing the obvious performance issues I’m sure you are going to get a nice experience even with your single 2080 in 4K.

The 2080Ti will do a good 30fps in Ultra 4K. It’s at like 100% usage some times. I had to turn up it’s fan curve and make sure it’s dusted out. It cooks along at 80d C :grimacing:
I’m CPU limited so it doesn’t matter what I set graphics for, 30 FPS in a non action game is actually ok. Plus I locked the Vsync at 30 to make it smoother.

I’m not sure why I see so many folks claiming they are ā€˜CPU’ limited at 4K. I have a 6850K at 4.5 with 32GB of C16 Corsair Dominator memory. Checking task manager while flying around shows fairly even varying core usage across 8 threads with 4 threads showing an almost flatline ~25% usage. Overall utilization stays around 35%, GPU is pegged at 98-99% with 10+GB for VRAM usage. At 4K ultra, and 80% scaling, I can just stay over a min of 30 FPS. I am extremely GPU limited.

I have a i7-4790K @4.8 GHz along with the 2080Ti and am CPU limited at any preset, Low to Ultra (custom airport JFK in the A320, worst case situation)

Check it out, it’s a big freaking card :open_mouth:

You have to look at the in-game fps counter. As FS is very single thread intensive you can be cpu limited even if you have 20 cores/threads. Example: a single thread process takes 100% of one core and is cpu limited, but to a 20 hyperthread system it will look like 5% usage… (however it does utilize more than one core but not fully, i have 65% cpu usage on my i9 system but still CPU limited in the game).

what i seen in testes, dual cards give about 150-180, and some times 200% of single, so gain in this case depend only of game optimization

Neato. That is not my experience. Your example is not my experience. My post, is my experience. I have used the in game metrics. I am 100% GPU limited. My experience my example. I have no idea why you posted what you did.

You said you are using taskmanager to check if you are CPU limited, which is not the correct way. That is why I was trying to help. I see many people have issues running at 4K resolutions, so Im not surprised you are GPU limited either.
