I am testing with MS Store FS20-24 versions, and it tells me “headset not detected” when pressing the key combo to start the VR. I am still in 23H2, and the HP G2 tested enabled-disabled in device manager, and FS24 in Steam library with UWPHook, neither works. Is there a solution or a hope haha
I have uninstalled from Steam Oasis, and uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled the Microsoft Mixed reality portal, and the G2 doesn´t work any more, with continuous connections disconnections, and “connect your headset”, and the trick in task manager, restarting the explorer service doesn´t work neither.
They’ll be an update release soon, but in the interim do these two things:
- Start SteamVR before MSFS, e.g. be in Steam home before running the sim.
- Turn off the sleep setting. SteamVR Settings, Video, toggle OFF the setting “Pause VR when headset is idle”
Really thanks for the help. I restored a W11 backup before installing Oasis from a pair of days ago, and all working again without problem.
Would be compatible with MS Store versions?
Yes, it works with MS Store versions. In the SteamVR settings, go to the OpenXR page, and switch the runtime to SteamVR instead of Mixed Reality Portal.
Oh, great! thanks! I will test, but sure works, I didn´t do that.
Some problems are like for to set 60Hz, and I have to switch between 90 and 60 till I make work 60Hz, and SteamVR gives some warnings about the GPU and HMD communication resulting in an HDCP error in between, and then some advices for to try resolve it.
Another is the resolution in SteamVR settings, I can´t set 3164 x 3092, the most near is 3168x3168, though now looking in developer mode with the fps setting with, FS20 says 3668x3668 and render (in DLSS I guess) 2127x2127, or maybe the first 6 is a 1, and I read bad in the 2D desktop monitor the compressed 2D split screen when in VR? haha. No, it says 3668x3668 haha
Edit: It works well with the 60Hz workaround, though in performance by the moment is a bit worse and more stutters in complex areas, though I was in DX12 for CTDs with the Nvidia driver and DX11, DX12 that is worse in performance in FS20, and I couldn´t match the resolution, so Oasis could be in pair or better with WMR in the future. Really thanks for the driver.
Edit2: I think I was having other resolutions because in the per application resolution for FS20 there was another, and a mix of them, now I am in 3148x3148.
And in FS20 and DX11 my impression is that it is bit worse in performance, though in FS24 I think that it is on pair.
I’ve just given this a go, have it mainly working, in TAA in seeing 40fps but its about 1fps and in DLSS its showing 58fps, but maybe its acting like 5fps.
Any idea why this is?
Dude thanks for posting this , i knew it had to be some interface issue blocking FS2020 from seeing my g2 headset. oasis driver revived the g2 and all of my VR games but this one! You hit it straight on the head of the nail. Now I hasve to tweak FPS it is sucking hard But i am glad its working again!
Have there been any updates to the OASIS driver? Are people using it routinely now for MSFS 2024? I tried it last fall but wasn’t able to get very smooth performance with my PC (i9-990k/RTX4070). However, I understand that support for 23H2 will end this November so I am wondering if I should bite the bullet and move up to 24H2 or 25H2.
The best if you have the chance is to continue with W11 updated, and install a fresh copy of W10 only for games and add its still support, still is the best, in WMR VR HMDs performance, even internet is better and the ping, jitter maybe the same or better also, testing these days after change to a new company, ping in W11 to a same test place is 34ms, W10 30ms.
