Object limit nightmare and no end in sight!

As per title, this is my fourth flight almost in a row with disappearing destination airports. Whilst I have a vague understanding of the reason why it was introduced last Septembre (performance?), I cannot understand why it is still there and ruining what would be otherwise a pleasant experience!!!

My four flights (all with add-on airports):
EGKK to GCTS (FBW A320)
YSSS to VHHH (B748 Salty)
VHHH to ZBAA (FBW A320)

Yes GSX is NOT used for more than the pushback - nothing else at all -,
yes GSX low resolution jetways have been selected,
yes all ground traffic in AIG is removed (option unticked),
yes ground traffic in MSFS is reduced to 10%,
yes road traffic is reduced to 20%…
Yes I run GAIST only with regional traffic

What else should I do to ensure I have a destination airport on my next flight please?
My PC is 12900K, Nvidia 3090 24 GB VRAM, RAM 64 GB, is my PC too weak?!..

I never ever had such aggravation with MSFS before September, this is as bad as CTD.

Could you explain a bit more about what you mean by this. A screenshot would be helpful if possible too.

When I am on final approach, there is no detailed scenery, only a very low textured runway, no building at all, no taxiway, in short the add-on airport did not load due to the infamous object limit. In addition, each time I have this phenomenon, when I close MSFS, the closing page remains stuck for ever and does not close until I use the Windows Task Manager.

Are you referring to the quantity of objects you can have in your community folder?

I believe it’s a draw distance issue. Airport structures often don’t appear on-screen until well after they should be visible.

For example on my latest flight from VHHH to ZBAA, the weather was CAVOK with an excellent visibility, but my scenery was far from sharp (in 4K), and where the airport should have been, I had a large white square when I turned on final, this happens sometimes but later the airport does appear all of a sudden. Not in these cases, no airport at all, very poor textures all over, the runway on which I landed was not even default quality, all colours were blurry, clearly the scenery addon did not load, this was the same experience with all my other “vanished destinations” airports.
After reading quite a lot about this on several fora, it looks like the AI traffic is responsible for that, but - if I admit that YSSY, VHHH, ZBAA are large airports with lots of AI planes - I am at a loss to understand why this would happen at GCTS where very few AI planes would be. So I am not convinced about this rationale. I am planning to make the same flight with the same plane with AIG at 50% and see if it makes a difference.
But what a pity really to have to juggle with this when my PC should be (was) able to manage this before this limit was introduced!!!

Are you very sure that’s the issue? Seems a lot of assumptions are made.

This seems more like add-on scenery issues. Never heard of an “object limit”. Does the same happen at default airports or withoiut community folder, not running AIG et al?

I’d be interested to know if the same issue can be observed when flying a much slower plane.

It could be a streaming scenery issue, and approaching too fast for it to be displayed.

Guys, there IS an object limit and it was and is being discussed over and over again. Nothing can be done about it currently, except trying to avoid the bug by not ending up too many objects being loaded via simconnect into the sim…

What addons are triggering this object limit? Or rather, combination of addons.

Is there a master thread about this?

There’s a simobject limit of 1000.

No limit for regular objects.

What are your traffic settings and are you using any traffic addons?

What’s the difference between a simobject, and a regular object?

Simconnect vs airport scenery? So the issue should not affect any airport buildings, taxiway lights, or static aircraft, but will affect injected aircraft?

The OP reports the destination airport “disappears” so that doesn’t sound like SimConnect.

A simobject is usually something that interacts with the sim in some way, so something like an item that appears at a certain time or is controlled by part of the programming.

Scenery objects are dumb and unchanging. So airport buildings and all the usual stuff is not, but some might be if a developer wants clever things like sound or items that move around.

I don’t know if it’s due to this Simconnect limit mentioned above or something else but I, too, noticed airport details popping in MUCH too late. Basically they appear while you overfly them during takeoff. You lift off, look down to the side and see objects popping in just left below your plane. When you approach an airport the runway is a fuzzy mess and only becomes a nice looking fully rendered runway once you’re over the threshold. I get this has been done to reduce the required memory and increase the performance but that’s not the best trade at all. It looks ridiculous between all this great scenery.

A screenshot or two from the OP would go a long way here

Do you have the Rolling Cache turned on?
If so, have you emptied it?
Likewise, with the NVidia cache.
I have never experienced this, and my PC is nowhere near as powerful as yours.

So airports not appearing would appear to be an unrelated issue to SimConnect hitting a maximum number of objects.
