Oculus RIFT CV1 Roomscale Problems

EDIT: Solution. If you have the issues below, select the “beta” option in the Oculus Home Window, and re-assign the forward/back keys. Many thanks to @samrussell11 for the solution.

My sensors are wall mounted for roomscale. My flight desk is toward the front/right of the play area.

When I start a flight, I appear outside the plane to the lower right as tho i am being positioned relative to the center of my play area.

Pressing “Reset VR” in all my other flight sims and racing sims, elite dangerous etc, reposition me inside the cockpit/car without a problem.

NOT SO with FS2020

Unfortunately, Asobo have removed the ability to move the camera forward / back. So I can use the keys to manually get back into the cockpit (up/down left/right) but NOT forward/back.

There is a reference to a “DEPTH” key, but I cannot find it anywhere so it can be assigned.

I also get a strange mask overlaying part of the image.

Initial position when a flight begins …

The mask overlay can be resolved by downloading the beta version of Oculus software. You can do that by going to settings and then beta.

Ah cool. Thanks for the tip.

Now, how can I get the camera forward/back function again

I have raised a zendesk report.

Cheers

I think it’s Alt+forwards/backwards arrows. Can’t remember without going into the sim. I literally had the exact same problems, but I think upgrading to the beta in oculus solved the camera positioning being outside the aircraft as well.

Thanks. I re- assigned the forward/back keys and set the oculus drivers to ‘beta’ mode.

Thanks again for the tip.
