Please see below for details on the upcoming Fly-In Event.

Join us this week on an IFR flight from Calgary to Vancouver! From Calgary International (CYYC) we depart in a westerly direction over the beautiful mountains. If the weather is in our favor, we should touchdown in Vancouver (CYVR) around 1 hour later. Runways will be based on the current live weather. SID/STAR is optional. Cruising altitude will be FL380.

Departure: 17L
Arrival: 08L

Recommended aircraft: A320, CJ4, or another jet.

We will be starting at CYYC. Please load your aircraft 10 minutes prior to take off and taxi over to the taxiway or parking.

Please adhere to the following settings so you can see everyone / be seen by everyone.

Variable Setting
Server North Europe
Multiplayer All
Live traffic As desired
Weather Live

To communicate with others, a voice channel on the "Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Discord” at https://discord.gg/msfs will be available to join.

It is advised in this flight to turn off both aircraft collisions and terrain collisions. If you do crash, you can use “slew” mode to join the pack. If the pack will be too scattered before the first stop, we will use slew on a defined point to regroup.

Burnt toast and ingoplane

It’s so cool seeing the planes (more or less) lining up for takeoff haha.

Minimums? What minimums? :man_pilot: :open_mouth:

For those of us flying with Live Weather for this community fly-in, we wanted to show you what it looked like at CYVR. It totally required IFR procedures in IMC conditions. I landed ahead of a fellow pilot on the Discord voice chat channel (@CapnCarl4445) and captured his landing on Rwy 13.

Pieter deserves a special mention for landing in the wrong airport

Above the soup looked amazing, very bumpy though!
