FLIGHT DETAILS

Every year during the first week of October, Albuquerque, New Mexico hosts the world’s largest festival of hot air balloons. For Fly-In Friday this week, we’ll be celebrating the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta with a virtual re-creation of the event in Microsoft Flight Simulator!

We will be starting at KABQ. Please have your balloon ready for takeoff approximately 10 minutes prior to the event start time.

If I’m in the beta would I need to opt back out?

No, you can join being in the beta but you will only see others who are in the beta, too.

Sadly, I can’t join today as I’m away on vacation. :sob:Might watch the stream later, though.

Alright thanks, I went ahead and switched anyway I didn’t see anyone, but on the regular branch there’s several people here already

Yeah, usually a lot more on the “production” build. But that’s one of the very nice things of MSFS 2024, switching between beta and production is so fast and painless that’s it’s not really a problem.

Enjoy the Balloon fun :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Just logged out of the beta specifically for the fly-In. Luckily, in 2024 that goes reasonably quickly

Quickly practicing flying a balloon. Now it’s getting tight. :grimacing:

About 8 minutes for the basics  http://youtube.com/watch?v=K25_0Ejn9ck

Does anyone know the variable needed to query the temperature of the air in the balloon as it is displayed on the little blue-ish thingy?

Really enjoyed this! Amazing views, especially seeing all the balloons floating about. I love the idea of everyone flying the same unique airframe for specific flights. The blimp flight we did a while back, this balloon flight, or the time we did the Dune ornithopter flight. It makes for such a cool, unique experience!
