FLIGHT DETAILS

In January 1969, there was a major oil spill off the coast of Santa Barbara, California. Images of marine wildlife coated in black oil dominated the television airways, and this led to an increased interest in environmental issues in the United States. Later that year, at a UNESCO conference in San Francisco, activist John McConnell proposed a new global holiday to celebrate Earth’s life and beauty. McConnell’s proposal eventually become known as Earth Day, celebrated around the world every year on April 22. For this week’s Community Fly-In, we will be visiting Santa Barbara and San Francisco, two cities with direct links to the origin of Earth Day, and then continue onwards to Yosemite National Park to take in the beautiful natural scenery.

Pilots on PC can download the .pln file below:

This flight plan looks excellent, have fun while I’m working!

Actually, just had an idea, if someone was willing to host, it would be lovely to “repeat” the official community fly-in’s a few hours later so that the folks in PST → EST can get together after work :sunglasses: (5PM PST/8PM EST would allow most to get to bed just after 10 on the east coast too if need be).

Yes, I never get to participate because of work.

It was a very nice flight again. Stunning scenery and recognized everything from the one time I was in yosemite valley. Struggling with the handling of the Daher and crashed on final because of impatience to do a go-around on the sign-off
Cu next time!

Sorry to be late to the party, started a new job this week not sure if I was going to have a chance to do the event. I started flying then decided to auto pilot it when I went to grab a bite to eat, clearly you can see how that went for me:
