FLIGHT DETAILS
Last week, we released World Update XV: Nordics & Greenland! There’s just so much to see in this new update that we’re flying not one but two different flight plans this week! Participants will have their choice of either a flight in Iceland OR a flight in Sweden
and Norway
. Both options feature stunningly beautiful natural scenery, bespoke airports, and new hand-crafted points of interest. There’s no wrong decision here; both flight plans are great! You can even fly one route during the livestream and then fly the other one at another time of your convenience.
Regardless of which flight plan you choose, be sure to download the free World Update XV from the in-sim Marketplace!
Option 1: Iceland
Option 2: Sweden and Norway
Pilots on PC can download the .pln file here:
Option 1: Iceland
2023-11-17 Iceland.PLN (3.9 KB)
Option 2: Sweden and Norway
2023-11-17 Sweden & Norway.PLN (3.1 KB)
We will be starting at BIHU (Option 1) or ESNQ (Option 2). Please load your aircraft 10 minutes prior to take off and taxi over to the runway in preparation for departure.
AIRCRAFT
Recommended aircraft: pilots choosing Option 1 (Iceland) will want a plane that can maintain a cruise speed of 130 knots or greater. Good choices are the Diamond DA40, Cirrus SR22, or JMB Aviation VL-3. For those who choose Option 2 (Sweden and Norway), you can fly at a more leisurely 100 knots or so in a plane such as the Cessna 172. Of course, to get into the Nordic spirit, pilots on either route can also fly the new Local Legend 13: Saab B 17A!

It is advised in this flight to turn off both aircraft collisions and terrain collisions. If you do crash, you can use “slew” mode to join the pack. If the pack will be too scattered before the first stop, we will use slew on a defined point to regroup.
