Please see below for details on the upcoming Fly-In Event:

FLIGHT DETAILS

Most of our Fly-In Friday events are cross-country flights between points A and B, but every now and then we like to mix things up a bit by flying a non-typical aircraft type or a tour of one specific city/location.

This week will be the latter type of fly-in. We’ll be touring Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal, in powered parachutes! Joining our guest panel of co-hosts will be @flyndive who you may know as a third-party add-on developer (Flyndive Simulations) whose products include the Paramotor 2.0 for MSFS 2020 and 2024!

Also on our panel this week will be @Forder1702 who recently hosted a tutorial session on how to fly powered parachute. You can watch the VOD of this lesson here.

We will be starting at LPPT. Please load your aircraft 10 minutes prior to take off and taxi over to the runway in preparation for departure.

AIRCRAFT

Recommended aircraft: Powrachute Sky Rascal, Flyndive Paramotor 2.0, or any aircraft of your choice suitable for flying low and slow and touring a single city.

Had an awesome time taking this fancy flying parachute out to explore the area! Very cool flight again!

However, I just bought the Taog 500 on the holiday sale so I couldn’t help myself and had to take it out for a spin.

IceMan found me and was stuck to me like glue for most of the rest of the flight, nice formation flying!

And then we found a third to join the club

This was really nice and cozy, until CriminalPilot and I got bored and did some H500 shenanigans.

Some Vids will follow.

Great, thanks, though the online model in “High Fidelity” needs to be repaired, de parachute is always de-inflate in other users in online, in the default FS24 motor-parachute.

Noticed this as well, the parachutes synced with what my aircraft was doing. Also the doors on the H500. If I opened mine, the other players H500s doors also opened.

Ah, so if you are flying with the powered parachute you observe other users with them inflated or doing what yours do?, and if not de-inflated?, ok. I have been observing that but in the fighters afterburners or canopies, doing the same what you are doing, though they were FS20 versions in FS24.

Edit: Ok, yeah, there are the pictures, yes. Curious.

The pity is when you don´t flight a default model, the other users if they not have your plane, they could be watching a 738 hahaha, funny anyway.

Here some vids (expire in 2 days):

Good flight. Which bar is that on the top?, in Xbox?, then you use something like trackir or you are in PC and VR?

Yes, I didn’t have the Flyndive Paramotor 2.0, which resulted in various jet aircraft (Longitude, B737, A320 etc.) demonstrating astonishingly tight turns while doing under 30 knots. Quite a sight.

Other than that, this Flyday was exceptionally nice for me.

I’ve been to Lisbon in real life once, so the scenery brought back various nice memories of that trip.

Even better: I’m one of the lucky winners of the Paramotor addon, of which I didn’t know before reading this thread. I fly a paraglider in real life, but not a paramotor. Where I live, one of the differences between these two is that the powered one needs a different license, which in turn requires a medical. For that reason alone, I’m unlikely to ever fly one. That’s why I’m really looking forward to flying one in the sim.

To add to the discussion on the stream:

Yes, the paramotor can self-launch, a paraglider needs elevation to launch. Either trough terrain, or a winch. Of course, this places much more restrictions on the glider about where and when it can be flown.

But - this is to some degree made up for by the even greater portability of the glider. On the stream, it was said how great it is to be able to throw your aircraft in the back of a car and drive off. I certainly agree, but I can stuff my aircraft into a backpack, and ride off on my bicycle! I can take it on trains, subways, and cable cars.

These things can be combined: I can – and do – strap the glider, a tent, and a sleeping bag to my bicycle, and put all that and my butt on a train which takes me to the mountains. To a camp site near launch sites with cable car access.

Ahhh… I’m getting carried away.
