Please see below for details on the upcoming Fly-In Event:

It is often said that the invention of commercial air travel is responsible for shrinking the world, but 35 years before the Wright Brothers’ first flight, another massive undertaking significantly reduced global travel times: the completion of the Suez Canal in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. Although the canal would not officially open until 1869, a very important milestone in the canal’s construction was achieved on February 17, 1867. It was on this date that the Scottish merchant ship S.S. Dido became the very first vessel to traverse the entire length of the canal. For Community Fly-In Friday this week, we will be following the Dido’s northbound path through the canal from the Gulf of Suez to the Mediterranean Sea.

Pilots on PC can download the .pln file below:

It is advised in this flight to turn off both aircraft collisions and terrain collisions. If you do crash, you can use “slew” mode to join the pack. If the pack will be too scattered before the first stop, we will use slew on a defined point to regroup.

To communicate with others, a voice channel on the "Official Microsoft Flight Simulator Discord” at https://discord.gg/msfs will be available to join.

This is meant to be a fun and informal flight. Everybody is welcome, no matter the amount of experience.

That looks a good route again, jealous I can’t join - certainly putting that world map on a dart board has really worked out well Lol.

I’ll hopefully get some spare time again to join one soon. I do miss the entertainment from we the community in both the skies and chat.

Looking forward to this flight!

I remember when the Ever Given ship got stuck, mods soon came out depicting the scene and it no longer was just congested with boats but also sim pilots taking in the sights! The scenery can still be found here, for those interested in enhancing the Suez community flight: Ever Given - Suez Traffic Jam » Microsoft Flight Simulator

Further, since we start from Sharm el Sheikh, there is a nice custom airport available for download here: HESH Sharm El Sheikh International Airport EGYPT » Microsoft Flight Simulator

Happy flighting!

Thanks for some great Saturday morning entertainment once again. A couple of screens from the part of the flight I was able to join before heading out.

Awesome time as always!!

That’s so Autobroom!

Thanks enjoyed that! Thanks for the advice about the HJet in the marketplace. Also gave me an idea that if I ever become MEGA rich then I’ll buy BOTH in real life, obviously!

It was a fun flight and I was impressed with how detailed the desert mountains looked. MSFS continues to impress.
